MachineGames' 2024 adventure is first-person, mostly non-lethal, and much closer to an immersive sim than the shooter its studio is known for. Set in 1937 between Raiders and Last Crusade, it moves from the Vatican to Sukhothai to Shanghai as hand-built hub areas dense with optional puzzles, and its central mechanic is the whip: used for traversal, for disarming, for pulling guards off ledges and for solving physical puzzles. Combat is deliberately awkward brawling with improvised objects - a shovel, a frying pan, a guitar - that break after a few swings, and guns are loud enough to summon everyone in the area, so stealth and disguise are almost always the better answer. Troy Baker's Indiana Jones is an uncanny vocal match for Harrison Ford. The photography mechanic and the notebook fill in a genuine sense of fieldwork. It is the best licensed adaptation MachineGames has made, and The Order of Giants expansion added a Rome chapter in 2025.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Review

The best licensed game in years — a globe-trotting adventure that understands Indiana Jones well enough to build a campaign worthy of the films themselves.
