The medieval survival hit Bellwright has made the jump to consoles. Developer Donkey Crew and publisher Snail Games launched the game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on June 9, 2026, alongside a launch trailer that debuted during IGN Live - bringing the town-building survival RPG to a much wider audience after a hugely successful run on Steam.
Bellwright was no quiet Early Access title: it sold more than one million copies on Steam before this console release. It launches at .99, with a 20% discount on PS5 (for PlayStation Plus members) and Xbox running through June 23.
Build a settlement, rally the people
Bellwright drops you into an open medieval world as a fugitive determined to clear your name and free the land from a corrupt ruler. That means founding and growing a settlement: recruiting villagers, assigning them to gather, craft and farm, and steadily upgrading a fledgling camp into a thriving town. It blends third-person action combat, deep survival systems and a surprisingly meaty management layer.

New content for the console launch
The console release is not a straight port, either. It brings the Halmare Isles - a new map spanning over 10 square kilometres - along with new story-based quests, expanded armour and equipment, additional animals and buildings, and a new Loyalty and Faction system that deepens how you win over the populace. The game remains in Early Access across all platforms as Donkey Crew continues building toward 1.0.

Whether you are a returning lord from the Steam version or a console player meeting Bellwright for the first time, the June 9 launch is the most fully-featured the game has ever been.
