Dispatch turned one on October 22, and AdHoc Studio marked the day with a long list of news. More than five million players have now clocked into the superhero workplace comedy. Two new behind-the-scenes modes are out today for Deluxe Edition owners, and the full game comes to iOS and Android on December 9, with its first four episodes free. The studio also showed what comes in the physical Deluxe Edition, announced a making-of book, and set a one-night live concert of the soundtrack in Los Angeles.
Five million Dispatchers in a year
The first episode of Dispatch went out on October 22, 2025. A year later, AdHoc says the player count has passed five million. That is a big number for an episodic, choice-driven narrative game from a new studio. The studio was founded by former Telltale developers, and Dispatch was its first game. The game casts you as Robert Robertson, a former mech-suited hero who ends up working as a dispatcher for a team of reformed villains. You make dialogue choices in fully animated scenes, then send heroes out to calls on a city map.

Out now: Commentary Mode and Storyboard Mode
The main thing you can play today is a free update for anyone who owns the Digital Deluxe Edition. It adds two new modes, both switched on from the Settings menu.
Commentary Mode layers more than 16 hours of behind-the-scenes talk over every episode. There are two tracks to choose between: Cast or Crew. The cast track includes Aaron Paul, Laura Bailey and Travis Willingham, among others. The crew track brings in the writers, directors and designers. Commentary is tied to your choices, so taking a different path through a scene can unlock different remarks. That gives replays a reason to exist beyond seeing the other branch. The commentary audio is English-only and has no subtitles, but the game's own dialogue still shows subtitles in your chosen language while it plays.
Storyboard Mode swaps the finished animation for the original storyboard animatics, from the first episode to the last. You can toggle it mid-scene to compare a moment's rough draft with the final version. You can also run storyboards and commentary together, which is the closest a game like this gets to a director's-cut disc.
Deluxe owners just need to update the game. Everyone else can buy the Deluxe upgrade for $10.99, which also includes the digital art book and the four digital comics. AdHoc says the upgrade is 20% off right now on Steam and Xbox. The modes are on every platform where the Digital Deluxe Edition is sold. On Switch, you'll need to download a new DLC pack before they appear.
Dispatch goes mobile on December 9
The biggest reveal is the mobile version. Dispatch launches on iOS and Android on December 9, 2026, and also supports Google Play Games on PC. AdHoc says the game has been rebuilt for touch controls and vertical play rather than squeezed onto a phone screen.

The pricing is generous. The first four episodes are free, which is the whole opening half of the story. Unlocking the rest of the game costs $19.99, with regional prices varying. The mobile version releases in every region where Dispatch is sold on PC and console, except China and Japan. Pre-registration is open on Google Play, and AdHoc says App Store pre-orders are coming soon.
What's in the physical Deluxe Edition
If you pre-ordered the boxed Deluxe Edition, Commentary and Storyboard modes are on the disc or cartridge along with the rest of the Deluxe content. It comes out on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch 2. AdHoc also showed what's inside the box. Every copy includes:
- A 16-page pocket edition of SDN's Guide to Dispatching
- A two-sided poster
- A soundtrack download code designed to look like a Lenart Terminal disc from the game
The Deluxe Edition is available to pre-order from Lost In Cult and other retailers. A SteelBook version is sold only through PANAX Games. Its first run is limited, and a second run is planned for spring 2027.
A making-of book, vinyl and merch
AdHoc is expanding its work with Lost In Cult into Dispatch: Design Works, a hardcover making-of book in a collectible box. It is built from hours of interviews with the cast and developers. Pre-order details arrive at the end of November, with release planned for 2027. The previously announced Dispatch: The Album vinyl set is still on track to ship in Q4 2026. It spans three 12-inch records with Andrew Arcadi's score and the game's licensed tracks, in black and colored editions.

The studio's own shop has a limited merch line based on art director Derek Stratton's album art, including hoodies, shirts, posters and slipmats. There are also 100 numbered posters signed by Stratton. All four Deluxe Edition comics are being printed physically for the first time, as a set with interlocking covers that form one battle scene. The first 1,000 orders come with a numbered collectible card. New Dispatch profile items are in the Steam Points Shop, and giveaways run on AdHoc's Discord and the game's subreddit through November 22.
Night Shift: the soundtrack live in Los Angeles
Finally, AdHoc and Banter Events are putting on Night Shift, a one-night concert of Dispatch's music at AVALON Hollywood on Thursday, December 3, 2026. Doors open at 6pm, and the show runs from 7pm to 10pm. Composer Andrew Arcadi and the SDN Company Band will play the score live, with sets from THOT SQUAD, Bershy, Primer, Caroline Kingsbury and Fartbarf. The event is 21+.
Tickets are very limited. To get into the pre-sale, sign up for AdHoc's email list before October 28. Subscribers will receive a unique code that day for pre-sale tickets on TicketWeb. Any tickets left over go on general sale on November 2, and VIP table seating will be available.
For players, today's update is the main event: Deluxe owners can replay the whole story with commentary or as storyboards right now. Anyone who never got around to Dispatch can try the first half free on their phone from December 9.
