Cut the Rope Remastered Leaves Apple Arcade on December 3, Coming to iOS and Android as an Ad-Free Premium Game

ZeptoLab is taking Cut the Rope Remastered off Apple Arcade and releasing it as a standalone, ad-free premium game on iOS and Android. The App Store lists a December 3 launch, and Google Play pre-registration is open now.

Cut the Rope Remastered Leaves Apple Arcade on December 3, Coming to iOS and Android as an Ad-Free Premium Game

Om Nom is coming out from behind the Apple Arcade paywall. ZeptoLab has put up store listings for Cut the Rope Remastered as a standalone release on both iOS and Android, and the App Store listing shows a December 3 launch date. Pre-registration is open on Google Play now. ZeptoLab is selling it as a premium game with no ads, which for this series is the headline. A franchise that grew up on free-to-play monetization is now shipping its best-of edition as a buy-once game.

What is changing

Cut the Rope Remastered has until now been an Apple Arcade exclusive, available only to subscribers of Apple's games service. The new listings drop that requirement: the App Store page opens with the line that the game was "previously exclusive to Apple Arcade — now available to everyone", and the Google Play version greets players with "Finally on Google Play!" It is the first time Android players have had an official way to play this version of the game.

Both listings carry the same pitch. There are no ads and no interruptions, the game works offline, and it is described as a premium adventure rather than a free download with a shop bolted on. ZeptoLab has not published a price yet. The App Store entry is a pre-order page with no price attached, so the cost should become clear closer to launch.

A greatest-hits package with new levels

This isn't a straight port of the 2010 original. The store text frames it as a collection of the series' greatest hits, with levels inspired by the most popular games across the franchise rather than only the first one. Cut the Rope has spread over the years into sequels and spin-offs such as Cut the Rope 2, Experiments, Time Travel and Magic, each adding its own physics gimmicks to the basic idea of slicing ropes so a dangling candy swings into Om Nom's mouth.

On top of the remixed classics, ZeptoLab promises exclusive levels starring Om Nom's family, fresh worlds and new mechanics. The trailer's tagline, "The Story Unfolds", and its storybook presentation, with the green candy-eater standing on the pages of an open book, point to a remaster built around a light narrative frame rather than a bare level list.

Why the business model matters

The original Cut the Rope was one of the defining paid hits of the early iPhone era. It then followed the rest of the mobile market toward free-to-play, ads and in-app purchases in its later entries. ZeptoLab says more than 1.8 billion players have fed Om Nom across the series. Shipping the remaster as a clean premium package takes the series back to the model it started with.

It also fits a wider pattern of games moving off Apple Arcade once their exclusivity runs out. Studios have been taking Arcade titles to the open App Store and to Google Play, usually as paid, ad-free versions, so they can reach players who never subscribed. Cut the Rope is one of the best-known names to make that move, and its family-friendly, offline-ready design suits it well: it is the kind of game parents look for when they want something with no ads or surprise purchases.

How to get it

On Android, you can pre-register through the Google Play listing now, and Play will notify you or install the game when it goes live. On iPhone and iPad, the App Store pre-order page shows the December 3 date, and the game will download automatically on launch day. The iOS build requires iOS 15 or later and is listed at roughly 670 MB, so it should run comfortably on fairly old devices.

If you already play through Apple Arcade, nothing here suggests that version is going away today. The new listing is a separate, standalone release aimed at everyone who never had the subscription. We will update you on pricing and the Android release timing as ZeptoLab confirms them.
