Capcom has served up its first crossover since Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen launched. A new title update brings in Laios and Marcille, the would-be monster chef and the long-suffering elf mage from Ryoko Kui's manga Delicious in Dungeon. They join as Official Pawns you can recruit into your party, and Capcom has added collaboration outfits modelled on the two characters. The update is out now, and Capcom says the pair will stay until the title update scheduled for Thursday, January 28, 2027, on every platform.
What the collaboration adds
The collaboration has two parts. The first is a pair of Official Pawns based on Laios and Marcille. If you haven't met the system before, Official Pawns are ready-made companions that Capcom places in the Rift, the otherworldly network where Arisen hire each other's Pawns. In Dragon's Dogma 2 they have usually come from streamers, creators and Capcom's own video series. These two let you take a piece of Kui's dungeon-crawling party out on the roads of Vermund and Battahl, or north into Dark Arisen's frozen Forsaken Dominion.
The second part is a set of special outfits inspired by the same two characters, so you can dress your own Arisen or Main Pawn as the dungeon-diving duo. Capcom's announcement describes both the Pawns and the gear as part of the collaboration, and it is in a new collaboration trailer on its official channels. The key art shows Laios, Marcille, Chilchuck and Senshi gathered around a cooking pot by a campfire, which is how the series spends a lot of its time.
The deadline matters. Capcom frames the crossover as a limited run: the culinary explorers are there to help until the January 28 title update. If you want Laios or Marcille in your party, the window is roughly twelve weeks from now.
Bug fixes in the same update
The collaboration is part of a regular title update, and Capcom says it also carries more bug fixes on various platforms. The publisher points players to the update page on the official Dragon's Dogma 2 website for the full patch notes, which list the fixes for each platform. It is the latest in a steady stream of support since the expansion arrived. Title Update 4.1 reached PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC in mid-October, and reached Switch 2 on October 27, with fixes to Pawn behaviour, vocations, quests and the interface.
Why Delicious in Dungeon fits Dragon's Dogma so well
Few crossovers make as much sense on paper. Delicious in Dungeon follows Laios and his party as they head deep into a dungeon to rescue his sister. Because they're short on money and supplies, they survive by cooking and eating the monsters they kill along the way. Kui's series is known for treating fantasy creatures almost like a field guide, working out how a living armour or a basilisk might actually be put together and what it might taste like.
Dragon's Dogma has always worked the same way. Its pitch is a party of four squaring up to griffins, chimeras, drakes and cyclopes, with Pawns calling out each monster's weak points. Laios, a man who would happily write a thesis on a monster's anatomy before frying it, is about as natural an Official Pawn as Capcom could have picked. Marcille's role as the party's magic specialist maps neatly onto the game's spellcasting vocations.
The manga ran from 2014 to 2023, and Studio Trigger's anime adaptation brought it to a much wider audience in 2024, so the crossover reaches an audience well beyond Dragon's Dogma's regulars.
Where Dark Arisen stands
Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen launched on October 9 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and Switch 2, where it debuted as a single package of the base game and expansion. Its headline addition is the Forsaken Dominion of Norgan, a snowbound northern region with its own story and a loot-driven relic expedition loop. It also adds the Lost Rites, twelve dungeon challenges spread across the original map. Alongside the expansion came Title Update 4.0 for the base game, which added Hard Mode, an option to restart with the same save, and support for FSR 3 Frame Generation and DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation. Before that, the game had already been updated to allow six equipped weapon skills instead of four, and to add an Eternal Ferrystone for easier fast travel.
Capcom refreshed the Official Pawn roster when Dark Arisen launched, and it hasn't said whether more guest Pawns will follow Laios and Marcille. For now, if you're heading into Norgan or the Lost Rites, you can bring a party that knows how to cook what it kills.
