EA Sports UFC 6 Drops Its First Reveal Trailer — Alex Pereira and Max Holloway Headline a Dual-Cover Launch on June 19

EA Sports UFC 6 dropped its first reveal trailer on May 5, confirming a June 19, 2026 launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Alex Pereira covers the Standard Edition while Max Holloway fronts the $99.99 Ultimate Edition with seven days of early access from June 12. The trailer also teased a possible Conor McGregor return.

EA finally pulled the curtain back on UFC 6 this morning. After a year of leaks, rumored cover athletes, and a quiet build-up that started last month with a teaser image, the official reveal trailer dropped as a YouTube premiere at 9:00 AM ET on Monday — and it confirmed almost everything the MMA community had been speculating about. UFC 6 launches June 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with Alex Pereira fronting the Standard Edition and Max Holloway covering the $99.99 Ultimate Edition.

The dual-cover format is a continuation of the strategy EA pioneered with UFC 4 and refined in UFC 5. Pereira and Holloway represent two ends of the modern UFC: the cold, almost mechanical precision of the former two-division champion versus the volume-and-pressure brawler style of the BMF titleholder. EA Sports executives have said in interviews that splitting the cover wasn’t just a marketing decision — it’s a way of pitching UFC 6’s individuality system, the new gameplay layer that promises to make every fighter feel mechanically unique rather than slotting into a small set of generic stand-up or grappler templates.

That individuality push is the trailer’s biggest gameplay tease. The footage shows simulated fights between several real-world matchups, including Pereira vs Ciryl Gane and a brutal Topuria vs Gaethje exchange. Each fighter visibly carries their real-world tendencies — stance, footwork, signature strikes, and crucially, defensive habits. EA hasn’t spelled out the underlying tech, but the marketing language around it leans heavily into machine-learning-trained fighter behavior models, suggesting that the AI in single-player and the response curves in versus modes will both feel different per athlete in ways past UFC games never quite nailed.

One easter egg has the MMA community absolutely losing it. The reveal trailer briefly shows a fight simulation that includes a Conor McGregor model — fully rendered, in-cage, throwing his trademark southpaw cross. McGregor hasn’t been an active UFC fighter for years and has been entangled in a long stretch of legal and contractual issues, but his presence in the trailer is being read as either a confirmation of his rumored 2026 octagon return or, more cynically, a clever marketing nod to a fight that could happen. Bloody Elbow’s breakdown of the trailer pointed out that the matchup looks suspiciously like a Pereira-Gane card alongside a McGregor undercard slot — exactly the kind of fight night the UFC has been hyping in private meetings for months.

The Ultimate Edition is where EA is leaning hardest into post-launch monetization. For $99.99, you get seven days of early access starting June 12, the full Rivalry Bundle with two fighter skins and 500 UFC Points, a VIP Pass loaded with cosmetics, an Expansion Pass that promises new game modes in winter 2026 and summer 2027, and a Fighter Pass that includes two UFC legends at launch with six more dropping over the following year. The legends slate hasn’t been fully revealed, but EA has confirmed the pass is built around “generation-defining names” — gaming code for Royce Gracie, Anderson Silva, GSP, Khabib, and similar tier athletes.

The PC absence is glaring and unsurprising. UFC games have been console-exclusive since the franchise moved off Xbox 360 and PS3, and EA has shown no interest in changing that — likely because the licensed-fighter cosmetic ecosystem leans heavily on closed platform economics. UFC fans on PC will once again have to make do with the spiritual successor scene (Undisputed, mostly) or boot up a PS5.

Cross-play is the other open question. EA has confirmed it’s being “evaluated” for UFC 6, which is the language they used for FC 26 before quietly shipping it without cross-play. Skepticism is warranted. EA Sports UFC 6 launches June 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Pre-orders are live now, with Ultimate Edition early access kicking off June 12.
