Everything is Crab, the animal-evolution roguelite that has been quietly turning PC players into crustaceans since May, is heading to phones first. Publisher Secret Mode and developer Odd Dreams Digital have dated the iOS and Android release for November 24, 2026, with the console versions following on January 26, 2027 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and Switch. The game also arrives on the Microsoft Store and Mac on that January date, alongside its existing Steam release.
What Everything is Crab actually is
You play as Darwin, a small blue blob with no particular talents and an alarming amount of potential. Each run drops Darwin into a living ecosystem full of other creatures that are busy hunting, grazing and fleeing on their own schedules. Eat something and you gain progress toward your next evolution; pick an evolution and Darwin grows a new body part, an attack or a passive trait. Claws, beaks, fur, wings, extra legs and stranger things all stack onto the same creature, which is where most of the game's comedy comes from.
The joke in the title is the punchline of every run. In biology, carcinisation is the tendency of unrelated crustaceans to independently evolve into crab-like shapes, and in this game the world is drifting the same way. Bosses with names like Crabtaur and Krabken are the end point of that drift, and the aim of a run is to adapt hard enough to beat them, or at least survive them.

Builds, biomes and pressure levels
The developer lists more than 125 evolutions and specialisations to draw from, and each one nudges your future options. Choosing predator traits makes more predator traits likely to show up later; leaning herbivore pushes you toward eating fruit and mushrooms instead of other animals. It is a deckbuilder's logic applied to a body, and the result is that two runs rarely produce the same creature.
The world itself changes underneath you. There are four biomes, each with its own rules and climate events, plus a day and night cycle that shifts which creatures are out. Bosses are not guaranteed, so a run can end on a fight you never prepared for. Meta-progression unlocks starting genetics that can be combined, challenge scenarios and further evolutions, while 20 escalating pressure levels cover the difficulty curve for players who want to keep pushing. Survive long enough and the game opens up an endless mode as well.

Why phones make sense for it
Everything is Crab has the shape of a game that suits a touchscreen. Runs are short, the camera is top-down, and much of the decision-making happens on a pause screen where you choose between three evolution cards. The mobile and console announcement came with a new trailer on Secret Mode's channel showing Darwin's transformations, fights, escapes and foraging, though the publisher has not yet detailed how controls or monetisation will work on phones. Mobile pricing has not been announced. On Steam the game sells for $9.99.
The PC version has built a sizeable audience since its May 8 launch. In a stats update this month, the developer said 659,394 players had taken on the role of Darwin across more than 27 million runs, and that over four million of those runs ended with Krabken defeated. The studio also said its next major update, version 1.3, is in the final stretch of development and arriving soon. It has not said whether that update will be part of the mobile launch.

Release dates at a glance
iOS and Android: November 24, 2026. PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, Switch, Microsoft Store and Mac: January 26, 2027. PC on Steam: out now, with Epic Games Store and Stove versions also listed. Secret Mode, which also publishes Squad on consoles and the cozy survival game Fangtopia, is handling every version.
Putting the mobile release two months ahead of the consoles is a clear signal of where the publisher sees the biggest new audience. For a roguelite built around snappy runs and a single funny idea, the phone may well turn out to be its natural home.
