JOYCITY has set a launch date for FreeStyle Football 2. The 5v5 online football game from Korean developer WOORE arrives on December 3, 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, with the PC version sold through both Steam and the Microsoft Store. Pre-orders are open now in three editions, starting at $29.99, and the two pricier tiers include early access ahead of the December date.
The release date and platforms
December 3 is a simultaneous launch on all three platforms. The game is a sequel to the original FreeStyle Football, the arcade street-football game JOYCITY ran as a free-to-play online title for years. This time it is a premium release with a fixed price, although the edition contents below make clear there is still an in-game shop and currency on top of it.
On Steam the store page is already taking orders, and at the time of writing it lists the Standard Edition at $26.99, a 10% pre-order discount off the $29.99 base price. Controller support is listed as full on PC, which matters for a game built around quick skill inputs rather than mouse aiming.
What each edition costs and includes
There are three versions to choose from:
- Standard Edition: $29.99 / £24.99 / €29.99 / ¥3,850. The base game, plus the ZEPHYR and HORIZON outfit sets as a pre-order bonus.
- Deluxe Edition: $39.99 / £32.99 / €39.99 / ¥4,950. Adds the FEROX Red wrestling outfit set, two Character Instant Recruit Tickets, a Deluxe profile icon, 500 Prism and 5,000 Reyal, and early access.
- Ultimate Edition: $69.99 / £57.99 / €69.99 / ¥8,580. Everything in the Deluxe Edition, plus lifetime access to premium outfits, a Premium Pass Ticket, the Death Game outfit set, eight character holograms, an Ultimate profile icon, 2,000 Prism and 13,000 Reyal.
Prism and Reyal are the game’s two currencies, and the Premium Pass Ticket points to a seasonal pass running alongside the base game. JOYCITY has not yet said how many days of early access the Deluxe and Ultimate editions get, so if that head start is the reason you would pay more, wait until the exact unlock time is confirmed.

How a match plays
FreeStyle Football 2 is not a squad-management sim. Each of the ten players on the pitch is a real person controlling one character, five a side, in real time. Positions carry distinct jobs, and each character brings their own abilities on top of the shared toolkit of passes, tackles and shots. Team play is the point: the game is built around passing chains, cooperative defending and skill combinations that string together between teammates.
Formations also matter. A team can press high with an aggressive setup or sit deep and hit on the counter, and the store page encourages players to change roles as a match develops. Goals end with a custom celebration, which the developer clearly sees as part of the appeal: the stated aim is to turn the pitch into a stage.

Story Mode, leagues and clubs
Alongside the online matches there is a chapter-based Story Mode set on the fictional island of Lana. JOYCITY puts its length at 10 to 20 hours, which is a larger single-player offering than most competitive arcade sports games bother with. It also works as a way to learn the cast, since each character has their own history and personality.
For competitive players, the launch line-up includes ranked Leagues and Club Tournaments, so groups of friends can register as a club and play organised events rather than queueing as strangers. Customisation covers character skins, street costumes and celebration animations, much of it tied to the edition bonuses and currencies above.

The pitches
The arenas are set in city streets and against recognisable landmarks around the world. The screenshots released so far show a neon square lined with billboards, a hillside favela courtyard and a London street court with a red double-decker bus parked beside it. The developer says every map has its own atmosphere rather than being a plain backdrop.
The game has already been through beta tests on PC and consoles, so December 3 is the end of a long run-up rather than a surprise drop. If you want in on day one at the lowest price, the Standard Edition pre-order is the cheapest way in. If early access matters, the Deluxe Edition is the cheapest tier that includes it.
