Supergiant Games brings Hades II to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on April 14 with 120fps performance, bonus content, and day-one Xbox Game Pass availability. The best-reviewed game of 2025 arrives with all post-launch patches and new quality-of-life improvements.

Hades II Arrives on PS5 and Xbox April 14 With 120fps and Day-One Game Pass

Supergiant Games' Hades II — the best-reviewed game of 2025 according to both Metacritic and OpenCritic — is finally breaking free from its Nintendo exclusivity window. The roguelike sequel launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on April 14, bringing Melinoë's battle against Chronos to every current-gen platform.

The announcement came during the Xbox Partner Preview event on March 26, complete with a gorgeous new animated trailer that gave fans their first look at some of the bonus content heading to consoles.

120fps on Both Consoles

Both the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions target an ultrafast 120 frames per second, which is the kind of performance that suits Hades II's fast-paced combat perfectly. When you're dodging through waves of underworld enemies and chaining abilities together, every frame counts — and Supergiant clearly understands that.

The console editions ship with every post-launch patch that's been released on other platforms since the game's v1.0 launch in September 2025. On top of that, Supergiant is including bonus content and quality-of-life improvements that will roll out simultaneously to PC and Switch players in a same-day update.

Game Pass From Day One

Xbox players are getting a particularly good deal here. Hades II launches directly into Xbox Game Pass on day one, and it's an Xbox Play Anywhere title — meaning your save progress syncs between your Xbox console and the Windows version on the Microsoft Store. For anyone who bounces between their desk and their living room, that's a meaningful perk.

New Content Teased

The animated trailer shown during the Partner Preview dropped a few hints about what's coming with the console launch. Eagle-eyed fans spotted what appears to be a new Hot Springs scene featuring Heracles, suggesting there's a new character relationship to explore in this version. The trailer shows Melinoë gearing up for battle in a sequence that Supergiant describes as brand-new content not previously seen on other platforms.

The Most Complete Version Yet

If you held off on Hades II waiting for a console release, April 14 is shaping up to be the ideal entry point. You're getting the full game with months of balance patches and improvements already baked in, plus exclusive bonus content, all running at 120fps. Melinoë, the long-lost sister of the original game's protagonist Zagreus, has never looked better heading into battle.
