Invincible VS Throws Down With an Open Beta April 9 Ahead of Its April 30 Launch

The Invincible universe gets a Marvel vs. Capcom-style 3v3 tag fighter from Quarter Up, with an open beta running April 9-11 on PS5 and Xbox before its full April 30 launch with 18+ characters.

Invincible VS Throws Down With an Open Beta April 9 Ahead of Its April 30 Launch

Quarter Up and Skybound Games are giving players a free taste of Invincible VS before it officially launches at the end of April. An open beta runs from April 9 through April 11 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, featuring ten playable characters and six stages pulled straight from the Invincible universe.

For anyone who hasn’t been tracking this one, Invincible VS is a 3-on-3 tag-team fighting game that draws obvious comparisons to Marvel vs. Capcom and Dragon Ball FighterZ. Players assemble a squad of three characters and swap between them mid-combo, chaining together devastating attacks that send opponents crashing through buildings, across city blocks, and even to the moon. The environmental destruction is a big part of the spectacle here, leaning hard into the bone-crunching violence the Invincible series is known for.

The launch roster has steadily been revealed through character trailers over the past several months. Confirmed fighters include Mark Grayson, Omni-Man, Atom Eve, Rex Splode, Dupli-Kate, Titan, Allen the Alien, Conquest, PowerPlex, Ella Mental, Thula, Bulletproof, Anissa, and Lucan, among others. Each character brings a distinct fighting style, from Conquest’s raw Viltrumite power to Dupli-Kate’s clone-based mix-ups.

Quarter Up has also confirmed a full story mode that promises to reward players beyond just arcade-style progression. In an interview with Game Informer, the studio described the single-player campaign as something that goes deeper than a typical fighting game story, though specifics remain under wraps.

DLC characters have already been teased alongside the open beta announcement, signaling long-term support plans. The full game launches April 30 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

“An FGC-shaped tag fighter with the best rollback netcode and most mechanically confident combat any licensed fighting game has shipped with this decade — wrapped in a single-player package that's roughly half the size it should be. If you're buying for the multiplayer, this is one of the most rewarding fighting games of 2026. If you're buying for the story mode, wait for a sale.”
