The galaxy's most famous board game just got a property-trading twist. Monopoly: Star Wars Heroes vs. Villains launches today, June 30, 2026, on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2 - bringing a team-based, power-driven reinvention of Monopoly to a galaxy far, far away.
This is not the slow grind of the classic tabletop game. Ubisoft's take pits a roster of 28 iconic Star Wars characters - 14 heroes and 14 villains - against each other, with every character wielding a unique, game-changing ability. Players pick a side and battle for control of the galaxy across a custom board stuffed with iconic locations, themed spaces, and cinematic moments.
Team-based Monopoly with the Force on your side
The biggest structural change is the move to team play. Heroes vs. Villains supports online 2v2 and 3v3 modes, so this is Monopoly built for squads rather than the usual every-player-for-themselves free-for-all. Character powers - think Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader and the rest of the cast each bending the rules in their favor - mean games can swing in ways the original board never allowed.

A budget-friendly crossover
At $29.99, it is priced as a pick-up-and-play crossover rather than a full-priced release, and pre-orders unlocked two dice skins inspired by a Jawa and a Clone Trooper. The launch comes after a short delay - the game was originally targeting June 11 before sliding to June 30 - and it is available across the Ubisoft Store, Steam, the Epic Games Store, and console storefronts, with GeForce NOW streaming support.
For Star Wars fans who want a lighter, faster way to settle scores with friends, a Monopoly board where the Force can flip the table is a genuinely tempting proposition.
