PS Plus' September Lineup Is Four Games Wide - Sniper Elite: Resistance, MLB The Show 26, Wobbly Life and Chained Echoes Land September 1

Sony's September 2026 Monthly Games drop breaks the usual three-title pattern: Rebellion's occupied-France sniper sim with Axis Invasion and 16-player multiplayer, this year's baseball game on PS5 with a Plus-exclusive Jump Start Bundle, a four-player split-screen sandbox, and one of the best indie JRPGs of the decade on PS4. Claimable 1 September through 5 October - and you have until 31 August to grab Signalis.

PS Plus' September Lineup Is Four Games Wide - Sniper Elite: Resistance, MLB The Show 26, Wobbly Life and Chained Echoes Land September 1

Sony has confirmed the PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for September 2026, and it is a four-title lineup rather than the usual three - a World War II sniper sim, this year's baseball game, a co-op sandbox and one of the most quietly beloved indie JRPGs of the last few years.

Sniper Elite: Resistance, MLB The Show 26, Wobbly Life and Chained Echoes become claimable on Tuesday 1 September and stay available until Monday 5 October. As always, they are yours for as long as your subscription stays active, at every PlayStation Plus tier including Essential.

Sniper Elite: Resistance (PS5, PS4)

Rebellion's tactical third-person shooter drops you into occupied France, and it is the one game here with genuine longevity built into it. The campaign can be played co-operatively. Axis Invasion returns, letting another player drop into your campaign as a hostile sniper hunting you specifically - a mode that has always done more for the series' identity than any of its set pieces. There is also 16-player competitive multiplayer and a four-player co-op Survival mode.

If you have never played a Sniper Elite, the pitch is that it is a stealth game where the reward for patience is a slow-motion X-ray of a rifle round doing something anatomically specific. It is not subtle. It is extremely good at what it does.

MLB The Show 26 (PS5)

Getting the current-year baseball game as a monthly title is a real headline, and it is PS5-only here. San Diego Studio's 2026 entry brings new stadium presentation, a Road To The Show career mode that now includes college team options, and the usual Diamond Dynasty card-collecting grind - expanded this year with a new Red Diamond card rarity.

PlayStation Plus members also get exclusive access to a Jump Start Bundle of packs and equipment, which is a meaningful head start if you intend to take Diamond Dynasty seriously rather than play a couple of exhibition games and move on.

Wobbly Life (PS5, PS4)

The odd one out, and probably the one your household will actually put the most hours into. Wobbly Life is a physics-driven co-op sandbox for up to four players, playable online or in local split-screen, set across a tropical island full of jobs, story missions, puzzles and things to fall off.

Its Arcade mode has picked up a set of dedicated party modes - Trash Zone, Hide and Seek, Wobble Run, and a customisable Sandbox. It is deliberately silly, and split-screen support on a monthly title is rare enough to be worth calling out.

Chained Echoes (PS4)

The best game on this list, and it is the PS4 version. Chained Echoes is a hand-crafted 16-bit-styled JRPG set on the continent of Valandis, following a group of heroes trying to end a war between three kingdoms. Combat is turn-based with a tension-management twist rather than a straight ATB copy, and you fight with swords, magic and - because this is a game that understands what its audience wants - piloted mechs.

It was made largely by one developer, it reviewed extremely well on release, and it is the kind of game that gets recommended for years by people who do not otherwise recommend indie JRPGs. If you skipped it, this is the month.

Last call on August

Before the swap, you have until Monday 31 August to add August's lineup to your library: Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition, Big Walk and Signalis. Signalis in particular is worth the thirty seconds it takes to claim - it is a genuinely excellent survival horror game and it will not be there next week.

The shape of it

Four games instead of three, with a current-year sports title and a critically adored JRPG in the same drop, is a stronger September than the summer months have been. The spread is also unusually wide: a stealth shooter with real multiplayer legs, an annual sim, a family-friendly co-op sandbox and a single-player story game. There is no obvious filler, which has not always been true of 2026's monthly lineups.

PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for September 2026 are available from 1 September to 5 October at all subscription tiers.

GTA 6's Extended Look Is Here - 27 Minutes of PS5 Gameplay, a Six-Star Wanted System That Survives Burning Your Getaway Car, Instant Jason-Lucia Swapping Mid-Chase, and a Vice City Roughly Twice the Size of Los Santos

Rockstar handed Netflix 27 uninterrupted minutes of Grand Theft Auto VI running on a base PS5 - and it finally showed the Jason-and-Lucia premise as a mechanic rather than a story. A six-star wanted level that persists after you torch the car, Max Payne-style gunplay with pickup weapons, a slim jim for quiet car thefts, Red Dead-style NPC conversations with a karma nudge for petting dogs, and a Leonida dense enough that the size is the least interesting thing about it.

Rockstar Finally Explained How GTA 6 Actually Plays - Food Changes Your Weight, Skipped Sleep Shows on Your Face, and an Entire Los Angeles Office Exists Just to Build Pedestrians

Hours before the Netflix premiere of An Extended Look, Rockstar developers broke a thirteen-year silence on how Grand Theft Auto VI plays: food changes Jason and Lucia's weight, exercise builds visible muscle, skipped sleep shows on their faces, the in-game phone carries working social feeds, and pulling a rifle in public makes Vice City react. Plus the scale numbers - a team more than doubled since Red Dead Redemption 2, and an entire Los Angeles office devoted to pedestrians.
