Pokémon GO's globe-trotting anniversary celebration touched down in Denmark this weekend. Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Copenhagen runs June 12-14 at Fælledparken and across the Danish capital - the second of this year's in-person stops after Chicago, and a warm-up for the big Global event in July. For ticket holders it means three days of exclusive spawns, raids and bonuses, plus a handful of debuts that GO trainers worldwide have been waiting on.
Zeraora finally arrives
The marquee moment is the arrival of Zeraora, the Mythical Thunderclap Pokémon. Ticket-holding trainers in Copenhagen receive a Special Research line investigating the recent discovery of the new species, culminating in a Zeraora encounter the first time you complete a GO Fest 2026 Special Research story. It is a genuine first for the game and a major draw for collectors chasing the Mythical's debut.
Zeraora is not the only headliner. Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y are making their Pokémon GO debut, and during the final 30 minutes of each park session ticket-holding attendees can pile into a massive Super Mega Raid featuring both. The Mewtwo you catch from those raids arrives with a special GO Fest 2026 location background and its first Mega Level already unlocked - a meaningful head start for one of the game's most coveted attackers.
Shiny chases and shared bonuses
Shiny hunters have their own reasons to show up. Shiny Paldean Tauros joins the pool, and Shiny Wash Rotom is appearing for the first time in Pokémon GO during the in-person events. Ticket holders also enjoy boosted shiny encounter rates across the board - though, as ever, Niantic is quick to stress that shinies are never guaranteed.
The Copenhagen festivities do not exist in a vacuum. They overlap with the ongoing Candela's Quest for Victory event, which runs June 9-15 with battle-focused spawns and raids for all players, ticket or not. And the whole weekend doubles as a dress rehearsal for Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Global on July 11-12, which - in a first for the series - will be completely free for every trainer, with Special Research, bonuses and increased shiny odds available to all.
It is a fitting setup for the game's tenth-anniversary year. Mega Mewtwo's arrival headlines a roster of firsts that reward players who turn up in person now, while the free Global event in July ensures the celebration eventually reaches everyone. For trainers wandering Fælledparken this weekend, though, the pitch is simple: a Mythical debut, two Mega legends, and a shiny pool stacked with weekend-only rarities.
