PRAGMATA Confirmed for April 17 — Capcom's Most Ambitious New IP in Years

Six years after its surprise reveal, Capcom's sci-fi action adventure PRAGMATA is confirmed for April 17 launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox with its bold dual-character mechanic.

PRAGMATA Confirmed for April 17 — Capcom's Most Ambitious New IP in Years

Capcom has locked in April 17, 2026 as the global launch date for PRAGMATA on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Originally announced in 2020 with a target of 2022, the game has weathered multiple delays as the studio worked to perfect its signature dual-character mechanic — and early press previews suggest the patience has paid off.

PRAGMATA is set aboard a cold, hostile lunar research station where an AI uprising has turned the facility into a warzone. Players control Hugh, a battle-hardened operative, alongside his android companion Diana, a mysterious girl whose hacking and interface abilities are as lethal as any firearm. The core gameplay loop revolves around switching between and combining both characters to clear enemies, solve environmental puzzles, and survive the station's cascading disasters.

PRAGMATA - Hugh and Diana on the lunar research station

Capcom has described PRAGMATA as a deliberate blend of action and puzzle-solving — a game that rewards players who think before shooting. Diana can interface with security systems, disable turrets, and reroute power to locked bulkheads; Hugh brings the raw firepower to breach rooms she opens. Together, they cover each other's blind spots in ways that feel narratively motivated rather than mechanically arbitrary.

The game has generated serious buzz for its visual fidelity. Running on RE Engine, PRAGMATA renders the lunar station with an oppressive beauty — every airlock, every flickering panel, every zero-gravity chamber feels painstakingly crafted. The character designs are equally striking: Hugh's worn pragmatism versus Diana's ethereal, almost childlike presence makes for a visual pairing that's hard to look away from.

Pre-orders are live now, with the standard edition and a Digital Deluxe version that includes two bonus outfits: Hugh - Neo Bushido and Diana - Neo Kunoichi. A free demo, PRAGMATA Sketchbook, is also available on Steam for players who want to test the controls before committing.

PRAGMATA drops April 17. After six years of waiting, Capcom is finally ready to show the world what they've been building.
