Devolver Digital and Croteam pulled the curtain back on The Talos Principle 3 today, calling it the grand finale of the philosophical puzzle series that started over a decade ago. The reveal arrived alongside a brief teaser trailer and a Steam wishlist page, with the studio promising a 2027 launch on PlayStation 5 and PC.
The pitch is unmistakably Talos. You wake up inside a place called the Anomaly, the only spot in the universe where the laws of physics refuse to behave. The crumbling temples and abandoned science outposts that have always framed the series return, but Croteam is teasing more than a dozen worlds this time, stitched together by memory fragments and the questions about consciousness that have defined the franchise.
A Cosmic Journey Built for the Trilogy's Send-Off
Croteam is leaning hard on the word "finale." The studio describes the game as a cosmic journey across the lives of humanity's distant future, jumping between a desert planet midway through terraforming and the lush gardens of Elysium. It is the kind of scope-pushing pitch that fits a closing chapter for a series Croteam has been refining since 2014's original Talos Principle, through 2023's standout sequel, and the Reawakened remaster that landed earlier this year.
The puzzle design is being framed as the peak of what the team can build. Croteam name-checks the light beams, laser bridges, and time-bending mechanics fans already know, then says new ones are coming to test what players have learned across the trilogy. Composer Damjan Mravunac is back on the soundtrack, returning to the orchestral and choral palette that has scored every entry in the series so far.

Steam Page Is Live, PS5 Listing Confirmed
Croteam has the Steam page up under app ID 3703630 with a wishlist button and the "coming 2027" tag, while Sony's PlayStation Store listing went up the same morning. There is no PS5 Pro enhancement language yet and no Xbox confirmation, which matches the trajectory of The Talos Principle 2, which skipped Xbox at launch before showing up later in the Reawakened bundle.
The studio's official line is short and very Talos: "All that's certain is that judgement awaits." That tracks with the trilogy's habit of dressing existential questions about identity, free will, and the meaning of consciousness in puzzle boxes. Players have spent two games arguing with a disembodied voice about whether they qualify as people. The trilogy's closer is going to want to land an answer.
Why This Is a Big Deal
The Talos Principle 2 was one of 2023's most decorated PC releases, and Croteam followed it with Reawakened, which rebuilt the original game in Unreal Engine 5 and shipped on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in April 2026. The studio has now spent four straight years on this universe. A 2027 launch for the third entry gives them roughly eighteen months to deliver, which lines up with the development cadence the Reawakened remaster signaled.
The trailer Devolver put on its YouTube channel is short and intentionally light on gameplay. What it does show is the kind of architectural impossibility that has been the series' calling card, plus a few wide shots of biome variety that hint at the cosmic-tour structure Croteam is selling. The teaser is up now, the wishlist is open, and 2027 is officially on the Devolver calendar.
