Lilith's WonderPaws Lets You Room With Animals, or Become One

Lilith Games has opened pre-registration for WonderPaws, a city life sim on Android, iOS and PC where you share a flat with animal roommates who have jobs of their own, and can drink a potion to become a friend's pampered pet.

Lilith's WonderPaws Lets You Room With Animals, or Become One

Lilith Games has a new game, and it has nothing to do with castles, sieges or idle hero squads. WonderPaws is a life sim set in a city run by animals, and you move in as the only human newcomer. Pre-registration is open now on Android, iOS and PC through the official site, and a Steam page is up for wishlists. Development is credited to a studio called Cat Paw Latte, with publishing under Farlight Games. There is no release date yet, and no launch regions have been confirmed.

A city built by animals

The setting is Paw City, and it is not a sleepy village. The developer describes neon storefronts, towering skyscrapers, giant billboards and busy streets. A giraffe drives to the mall in a car sized for her neck, hamsters commute through clear tubes, and a fox idol group called Paw-Paw Chorus plays the main stage. That makes it a sharp turn away from the rural, seasonal template most cosy life sims follow. The pitch here is the energy of a city, not a quiet farm.

The store page lists the genres as casual, RPG and simulation, and the Steam build supports controllers fully. The PC and mobile versions are being announced side by side, so this looks like a game built for both from the start rather than a phone port of a PC game or the other way round.

Your roommates are not pets

The feature WonderPaws leans on hardest is the flatshare. You live with animal roommates, and the developer is careful to say they are not pets. They have jobs, personalities, plans and opinions. The examples on the store page set the tone: a golden retriever whose tail never stops, a black cat who pretends it was not waiting up for you, and a frog worn out from work who has already claimed the sofa. Your roommates help decorate the flat, post photos of dinner to an in-game social feed called InstaCute, plan outfits with you for the next day, and every so often decide the bathroom is the right place for a party.

The in-game camera mode puts a selfie stick in your hand, with your roommates in the frame behind you.

Home decoration is part of the loop too. The first flat is a downtown apartment with a skyline view, and you furnish it with your roommates. The store page also warns, fondly, about a little extra shedding.

Pop star, mayor, designer

Beyond the flat, WonderPaws offers careers and roles in the city. Audition posters around the main stage let you and your friends form a pop group, learn the choreography and perform to a crowd. Town Hall lets you take up requests from residents about what should change around town, with polar bears and hamsters named among the people asking. And there is a design path where you draw up buildings for the city's stranger residents. The example given is high-ceilinged lofts so giraffe neighbours can finally stand up straight.

Balcony gardens, a watering can and a skyline at sunset: the rooftop terrace hints at how far decoration reaches beyond the four walls of the flat.

The developer also says the town grows and changes alongside the player as they settle in, which suggests the city itself develops over time rather than staying fixed.

Or be the pet yourself

The oddest idea in WonderPaws is also its most distinctive. Drink a potion and you grow ears and a tail and turn into one of the city's animals yourself. Then you can move in with a human friend and let them look after you: snacks on demand, head scratches, and the sunniest spot on the sofa. Out in town, critter mode has its own activities, including public grooming machines that fluff you up like a cloud, giant sandboxes to roll around in, and front-row spots for the evening festival parade.

The name tags say it all: one player is the owner, the other has taken the potion and become the pet.

That setup only makes sense with other people, and the screenshots confirm it: the name tags above characters label one player as the pet owner and another as the pet. This role-swap between two real players is what separates WonderPaws from its genre peers. Plenty of life sims let you keep animals. Very few let a friend keep you.

Why it matters

Lilith Games built its name on strategy and idle RPGs like Rise of Kingdoms and AFK Arena, so a social life sim is a real departure for the company. It also lands in a busy corner of the market, where cosy social games have become one of the most contested genres on phones. What WonderPaws has going for it is a clear identity: a dense, loud city instead of a village, roommates with their own lives, and a multiplayer twist that turns one player into another player's pampered house cat.

For now, the practical step is simple. Pre-registration is open on the official WonderPaws site for Android, iOS and PC, and PC players can wishlist it on Steam. Release timing, monetisation and regional availability have not been announced.
