Supercell has gone back to the WWE well, and this time it has hired the biggest name in it. Clash of Clans' September 2026 season is WWE: Search for Cena, a month-long crossover built around a hunt for John Cena's Village, and Cena himself appears in the campaign wearing a shirt printed with Barbarian faces.
The setup, per Supercell's own season overview: Cody Rhodes needs your help finding Cena's Village. The teaser campaign leaned hard into the joke, with the official account posting "The chances of finding John Cena might be small. The rewards aren't" under the tag #SearchForCena, plus a clip of in-game Skeletons performing Cena's signature you-can't-see-me hand wave.
The Gold Pass skin is Jey Uso
Cena is the face of the marketing, but the Gold Pass reward is a different superstar. September's skin turns the Minion Prince into Jey Uso, and it is a fuller redesign than most seasonal hero skins get. The Minion Prince loses his usual entourage staging and carries only his wand, which is scaled up, keeps the gold finish, and swaps its head for a WWE-branded microphone — a neat visual read on a wrestler whose gimmick is the crowd chanting with him.
That is a more inventive brief than "put a wrestler's face on a hero," which is roughly what the April 2025 collaboration did. It also means the skin reads clearly at Clash's zoomed-out battle camera, which is the actual test any hero skin has to pass.
This is the second WWE crossover, and the first one set a high bar
Supercell and WWE first collided in April 2025, timed to WrestleMania 41, and that season converted five heroes into Legendary skins at once: Cody Rhodes as the Barbarian King, Rhea Ripley as the Archer Queen, The Undertaker as the Grand Warden, Bianca Belair as the Royal Champion and Rey Mysterio as the Minion Prince. It remains one of the most complete brand crossovers the game has run.
Community leaks ahead of today's reveal pointed to WWE legend Kane and returning stars Cody Rhodes and Rhea Ripley being lined up for Barbarian King, Grand Warden and Archer Queen skins this time around. Treat that as unconfirmed until Supercell publishes the season blog post — as of today only the Jey Uso Minion Prince skin and the Cena-hunt framing are officially on the record, and the studio's release notes for the season are not up yet.
Money in the Bank is in the mix
The season overview's key art puts a Clash-styled WWE Money in the Bank briefcase front and centre, rendered as a green-and-gold chest with the WWE logo stamped on it. In WWE, the Money in the Bank briefcase is a guaranteed title shot its holder can cash in at any moment — an unusually good fit for a game whose entire reward economy is built on saving something up and spending it at the right time.
Expect it to function as the season's headline reward track or event container rather than pure decoration. Supercell has increasingly built its seasons around a themed event layer sitting on top of the Gold Pass, and a briefcase you fill and cash out is exactly that shape.
What Gold Pass buyers should actually expect
September's Gold Pass follows the structure Supercell settled into earlier this year: the hero skin as the anchor reward, themed sceneries and cosmetics, and a season-long challenge track paying out Magic Items and resources. Supercell has not published pricing changes, so the standard Gold Pass tiers apply.
The practical advice is unchanged. If you are actively upgrading, the Gold Pass' builder discounts and resource boosts remain the strongest value in the game per dollar, and the skin is a bonus. If you are coasting, the skin alone is a cosmetic purchase — and WWE-licensed hero skins have historically not returned to the shop, which is the pressure Supercell is counting on.
Timing
Clash of Clans seasons run on the calendar month, so WWE: Search for Cena begins with September and closes out at the end of it. The season overview is live on the official channel now, and the in-game season should be visible from the reset. Clash of Clans is free to play on iOS and Android with in-app purchases.
