RV There Yet?, the co-op comedy about four friends trying to drag a battered motorhome home through hostile back country, is finally reaching PlayStation and Nintendo players. Nuggets Entertainment has confirmed the game launches on PS5 and Switch 2 on October 29, and that it arrives with cross-play switched on between every version, so console newcomers can share an RV with the PC and Xbox crowd from day one.
One week to go, and every platform in the same RV
The new date closes a window the developer had been hinting at for months. Back in late August, the studio told its Steam community that the PlayStation version was most likely an October release, and that full cross-play between all platforms would land alongside it rather than earlier. That promise now has a firm day attached. October 29 also brings the Switch 2 version, which had not been part of that earlier update, so the game will be playable on every current major platform by the end of the month.
Cross-play matters more for RV There Yet? than for most games, because it is built entirely around a group. Until now the Steam and Xbox communities were walled off from each other: when the Xbox and Microsoft Store versions arrived on June 30, the developer was upfront that there was no cross-play between them and Steam yet, describing it only as something it hoped to add. Merging every platform into a single pool should make it far easier to fill a four-person crew, especially for anyone whose friends are spread across different hardware.

What the game actually is
The setup is simple. You and your friends are heading home from a relaxing vacation when a forced detour sends the RV onto an alternate route, and the job is to get it through the back country and out the other side to Route 65. Nobody gets a cutscene to skip the hard parts: the vehicle has to be physically driven, steered and coaxed over terrain that was never meant for something that size.
One player drives, and driving is fully manual, with a clutch, a gear stick and the constant risk of stalling halfway up a slope. Everyone else is support crew, scouting the route ahead, patching up damage with scrap they find along the way, and keeping the group alive with a supply of burgers, antidotes and EpiPens. The developer's own pitch is blunt about the balance: the driver will have a hard time finishing the trip alone.
Winches, canyons and bad decisions
The signature tool is the winch. The RV has one at the front and one at the rear, controlled through a handheld remote that lets a player reel cable in or out and switch between the two ends. Anchor the cable to the right point and the RV can be hauled up a cliff face, lowered down a drop or swung across a gap. Anchor it to the wrong point, or let go at the wrong moment, and the whole thing can end up at the bottom of a canyon. Much of the game's appeal, and most of the clips it is known for, comes from that physics working exactly as designed while the plan falls apart.

Getting the RV out of trouble is rarely a one-person job. Someone has to find an anchor point, someone has to work the remote, and someone usually has to be standing in the wrong place when it goes wrong. The hazards are not only geographic, either: the first area, Mabutts Valley, comes with the warning that not everyone who enters makes it out alive, and wildlife along the route can turn a careful climb into a scramble.
Three maps, finished before the console launch
The console versions arrive with the full game. RV There Yet? launched on Steam on October 21, 2025, and the studio has since expanded it with additional maps, including a mountain route at Mt. Yurbuttsk. The third and final map, St. Búttin Bay, went live on September 10 as a free update for existing owners. It starts the trip from a beach and adds new animals, items, tools, narrative and music, which the developer described as the end of an epic trilogy and one last ride home.

That means PS5 and Switch 2 players are not stepping into an early version waiting on content. They get the complete three-map journey at launch, plus a community on PC and Xbox that has already spent a year figuring out how not to drive off cliffs, and can now play with them.
Release details
RV There Yet? launches on PS5 and Switch 2 on October 29, with cross-play across PS5, Switch 2, Xbox Series and PC. It is available now on PC via Steam, where it costs $7.99, and on Xbox Series and PC via the Microsoft Store. Console pricing for the new versions has not been detailed in the announcement. The developer also used its latest video update to mention merchandise and tease further news, so this may not be the last thing Nuggets Entertainment has to say before the end of the year.
