Ubisoft has dropped a major update for The Division Resurgence, the free-to-play third-person looter-shooter that originally launched on phones and tablets. A full 2026 roadmap is now public, PC early access is live on Ubisoft Connect, and cross-platform progression links every version of the game together.
The roadmap promises new content every six weeks across all platforms, with three major seasons planned for the year. For anyone who dismissed Resurgence as a phone-only experience, the PC expansion changes the calculus entirely.
The Roadmap Breakdown
Ubisoft is structuring Resurgence's live service around seasons that last roughly four months each, with new phases rolling out every six weeks inside each season.
Season 1 is currently underway. Phase 1 runs through May 11, and Phase 2 kicks off on May 12 with limited-time events including Dark Zone challenges and Speed Run modes, plus new cosmetic sets and exotic weapon skins.
Season 2 will mark the official full PC launch, currently targeting August 2026. This means the current PC version is a technical early access build — stable enough to play, but still being optimized ahead of the wider release.
Season 3 arrives in winter and brings a major story expansion that pushes the narrative forward in a significant way.
Cross-Platform and Cross-Progression
One of Resurgence's biggest selling points is seamless cross-progression. Players can start a session on their phone during a commute, pick up where they left off on PC at home, and their entire inventory, progression, and unlocks carry over. Cross-platform multiplayer also means phone and PC players can squad up for missions and Dark Zone runs together.
The game is currently available on the App Store, Google Play, and Ubisoft Connect for PC, with a full Steam release planned for later this year.
What Makes Resurgence Different
While The Division 2 remains Ubisoft's flagship entry in the franchise, Resurgence carves out its own space with a streamlined, session-friendly approach to the looter-shooter formula. Missions are designed to be completed in shorter bursts, making it a natural fit for both on-the-go play and quick PC sessions. The core loop — cover-based combat, loot chasing, and Dark Zone PvPvE — stays intact, just tuned for accessibility.
With a free-to-play model and cross-platform support, Resurgence is positioned as Ubisoft's entry point into The Division universe for players who want the experience without the commitment of a full-price title. The 2026 roadmap suggests the studio is betting big on it as a long-term live service.
