Capcom used the June 9, 2026 Nintendo Direct to confirm two things fans have wanted for a while: Dragon’s Dogma 2 is coming to Nintendo Switch 2, and it’s getting the expansion it always deserved. Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen launches on October 9, 2026.
Just like the beloved Dark Arisen edition of the original game, this is an expanded version of Dragon’s Dogma 2 that folds new content into the existing adventure. The headline addition shown in the trailer is a brand-new snowy region called Norgan — an area never seen in the base game that pushes the Arisen and their Pawns into colder, more treacherous frontier territory.

Alongside the new region, Dark Arisen brings additional content and features to Capcom’s sprawling action RPG, which already let players climb across towering monsters, command a party of customizable Pawns, and tear through a living open world with a deep vocation system. The Switch 2 release marks the first time the game has been playable on a Nintendo platform.

Importantly, this isn’t a Switch 2 exclusive. The Dark Arisen content is also coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC as DLC for owners of the original Dragon’s Dogma 2, so existing players won’t have to rebuy the whole game to explore Norgan.
It was part of a notably strong Capcom showing at the Direct, which also confirmed Switch 2 plans for several other major titles. But for a game widely praised as one of Capcom’s best RPGs in years, a definitive expanded edition — on three more platforms, no less — is the standout. Mark October 9 on the calendar.
