The Lands Between are finally making the leap to Nintendo’s newest handheld. ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 on August 28, 2026, launching simultaneously worldwide and bringing FromSoftware’s era-defining action RPG to the platform in one complete package.
Tarnished Edition bundles the base game together with the massive Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, so Switch 2 owners get the full journey — from the opening steps out of the Stranded Graveyard all the way through the Land of Shadow — in a single purchase. On top of that, this version adds content built specifically for the re-release.

The new additions include two new starting classes, the Knight of Ides and the Heavy Knight, alongside four new armor sets, fresh weapons and skills scattered across the world, and three alternate looks for Torrent, your spectral steed. It is a meaningful sweetener for a game many players have already poured hundreds of hours into.
FromSoftware isn’t leaving existing players out, either. The new content will also be sold separately as a Tarnished Pack DLC on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam — reportedly priced around $5 — releasing on the same day as the Switch 2 edition.

On Switch 2, Tarnished Edition will run roughly $79.99 and ship as an 80GB Game-Key Card. Pre-orders for the packaged version are already open, with downloadable pre-orders following on June 11. The release reportedly went through extra development time to optimize performance for the new hardware in both docked and handheld play.
For a game that swept Game of the Year awards in 2022 and has only grown its legend since, being able to take the entire Elden Ring experience — expansion included — anywhere is a genuinely big deal. August 28 can’t come soon enough.
