Koei Tecmo has finally pinned down its classic-revival warrior epic. Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered launches worldwide on October 1, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam, confirmed alongside a meaty new overview trailer at the June State of Play - a firm date at last after the project slipped from its original March 19 target.
The game that defined Musou, rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5
The package bundles Dynasty Warriors 3 and its Xtreme Legends expansion - the entries widely credited with cementing the series' 1-vs-1,000 formula - and rebuilds their 40-plus officers and sprawling battlefields in Unreal Engine 5. Developer Omega Force is preserving the era's breakneck crowd-clearing while modernizing the presentation, and the overview trailer walks through the returning Musou mode, now bolstered by Evasion and Counterattack options, plus Charge Attack and Power Guard mechanics for players who want a little more depth in the chaos.
New tricks, classic side stories and split-screen
The headline addition is Weapon Fusion, a new system that lets you forge ultimate weapons by transferring elemental attributes and skills from one armament to another. The trailer also showed off a Free Mode for roaming battlefields as your favorite officer, a trio of Legend side stories - the Wei battle of Chibi, the Wu battle of Wuzhang Plains and the Shu siege of Hefei Castle - and, crucially for longtime fans, the return of split-screen co-op. After the date shuffle, October 1 finally gives the remaster a home on the calendar.
