Rockstar Games has dated the second half of Grand Theft Auto VI's music. Grand Theft Auto VI: Original Score, the soundtrack composed for the game by French electronic duo Justice, arrives on December 11 on every major streaming service and on physical CD and vinyl. That is just over three weeks after the game itself launches on PS5 and Xbox Series on November 19, and a lead single is already out today.
What the Original Score Is
It helps to separate the two GTA VI records, because Rockstar is releasing both and they are very different things. Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album is the multi-artist collection: 34 original tracks from a mixed roster that includes Travis Scott, Keith Richards, Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro, PinkPantheress and Yung Lean, launching alongside the game on November 19.
The Original Score is the other half: the music Justice wrote to sit underneath the game itself, during missions, chases and story moments, rather than the licensed songs you hear on the car radio. Rockstar describes it as drawn from the duo's full body of work for the game, and it is mostly instrumental. The standard release runs to 30 tracks, with additional digital bonus tracks included across every format.
Formats and Pre-Orders
There are four ways to get it on December 11:
- Streaming on all major music services, with pre-saves open now
- Double CD
- Triple vinyl, a three-LP set
- Limited crystal-clear triple vinyl, the same three LPs pressed on transparent records
Physical pre-orders and streaming pre-saves are live now through Justice's official link at justice.lnk.to/gtaoriginalscore. Rockstar has not listed prices in its announcement, so expect those to vary by region and storefront. As with most collector pressings, the clear vinyl is the one to move on quickly if you want it, since Rockstar is explicitly calling it limited.
Pusher, the First Single, Is Out Now
To go with the announcement, Justice has released a new track called Pusher, featuring fellow French producer Gesaffelstein. It is available to stream today. The pairing is a natural one: both acts came up through the same Parisian electronic scene, and Gesaffelstein's darker, heavier sound is a good fit for a crime game set in a sun-bleached Vice City where things go wrong quickly.
Pusher joins Flower in a Hurricane, the track that debuted in the game's launch trailer on October 15. That one features an unusually stacked guest list for a game score: Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. That trailer was also where Rockstar confirmed Justice as the composers of the game's score.
Why the Score Comes Out After the Game
Holding the score back until December makes some sense. A game's underscore is tied closely to its story beats, and a full tracklist arriving before November 19 would hint at missions and set pieces that many players will want to discover for themselves. Releasing it three weeks after launch gives the earliest players time to get through a good chunk of the campaign first, while still landing in time for the holiday gifting window for the physical editions.
It also means the November 19 launch week belongs to The Album and its headline names, while the score gets its own release date and its own attention a few weeks later rather than being buried under the game's launch.
A Big Booking for Rockstar
Justice are one of the best-known electronic acts of the last two decades, with multiple Grammy wins and a sound built on heavy, distorted synths and disco rhythms. Rockstar has a long history of pairing its games with distinctive original scores, and handing the whole of GTA VI's underscore to a single headline act signals how central music is to the way the studio is presenting Leonida and its version of Vice City.
For players, the practical takeaway is simple. The game launches on November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series. The Album arrives the same day. The Justice score follows on December 11, and you can already listen to Pusher and Flower in a Hurricane while you wait.
