Helldivers 2's Warhammer 40,000 crossover finally has a date. The Castellan's Creed Legendary Warbond lands on August 12 across PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, and it is built around one of the most recognisable units in the Imperium: the Cadian Kasrkin.
Arrowhead first confirmed the crossover back at Skulls 2026 in May, with nothing more than a logo and a vague late-2026 window. The July 30 trailer filled in the rest, and this week's Xbox Wire and Steam posts locked the launch to Wednesday.
The guns: a bolt pistol and, yes, a Meltagun
Four weapons, and the two headliners are exactly what 40K fans have been asking for since the first tease.
- R/40-K Hot-Shot Marksman Rifle (primary) - the Kasrkin's signature hot-shot lasgun, framed by Super Earth as "deadly at close range, deadlier at long range."
- P/40-K Bolt Pistol (sidearm) - the sidearm, doing the thing bolt pistols do.
- 40-K Meltagun Stratagem - a short-range superheated beam support weapon "capable of reducing steel to slag." Anti-tank players will be booking time off.
- G/40-K Meltamine Throwable - a proximity-triggered burst mine that Arrowhead openly warns is "dangerous to friend and foe alike."

Two armors, one very good passive
The TG-8 Sharpshooter (medium) and TG-122 Demo-Trooper (heavy) both carry a new passive called True Grit: +20 weapon handling and a 30% reload speed bonus for support weapons. That second number is the one to watch. Support weapon reloads are Helldivers 2's most punishing animation lock, and a flat 30% cut applies to recoilless rifles, autocannons and, conveniently, the Meltagun that ships in the same Warbond.
Rounding it out are two cape/player card sets (Camo Cloak and City Fighter's Resolve), the title Still Standing, and a Castellan's Green pattern.

The lore dodge is doing a lot of work
Arrowhead's in-fiction framing is that none of this is Warhammer at all. The gear is presented as a Ministry of Defense reconstruction honouring Helldivers who died defending "the peaceful world of Chara" during the First Galactic War - a last stand that gives Super Earth an excuse to hand out Cadian kit without ever saying the word Imperium. Cadia, Chara, Kasrkin, Charan craftsmanship: the joke is that the satire machine simply absorbs 40K whole.
Price and the token catch
As a Legendary Warbond, Castellan's Creed is expected to cost 1,500 Super Credits, matching the Killzone and Halo: ODST crossovers before it. One detail worth reading twice from the official post: you cannot claim it with a Premium Warbond token. The stockpile of tokens some players have been banking will not cover this one.
It is a busy month for the game either way - Arrowhead has separately confirmed the level cap is jumping from 150 to 300 as part of a wider progression overhaul, with XP earned past the old ceiling applied retroactively.
The Helldivers 2 x Warhammer 40,000: Castellan's Creed Legendary Warbond arrives August 12 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam. Base game and progression required.
