NIKKE's Persona Crossover Starts August 13 - Queen and Yukiko Are Paid SSRs, Aigis Is Free

PERSONA ON FRONTLINE brings Persona 3 Reload, 4 Golden and 5 Royal into Goddess of Victory: NIKKE from August 13 to September 10, with SSR Queen and Yukiko on banners and SR Aigis handed out through the event.

Shift Up has dated the crossover a lot of people did not think would clear licensing: PERSONA ON FRONTLINE, a Goddess of Victory: NIKKE collaboration spanning Persona 3 Reload, Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5 Royal, goes live on August 13 and runs until September 10. The collaboration PV dropped today.

It is timed to the Persona series' 30th anniversary, which is why ATLUS signed off on three games at once rather than the usual single-title crossover. Three characters cross over, and one of them is free.

Queen, Yukiko, and a free Aigis

SSR Queen (Makoto Niijima) from Persona 5 Royal is a shotgun Attacker with Fire code, and her banner runs from August 13 (after maintenance) through September 10. SSR Yukiko Amagi from Persona 4 Golden is also an Attacker, but with healing folded into her kit - her banner opens a week later, on August 20, and closes on the same September 10 date.

SR Aigis from Persona 3 Reload is the freebie. She is handed out through the PERSONA ON FRONTLINE event itself as a Supporter, backed by a 14-day login event that also distributes recruitment vouchers. Free collab units are not new for NIKKE, but giving away the Persona 3 character while charging for the Persona 4 and 5 ones is a pointed bit of banner design - Aigis is the one most likely to pull lapsed players back in.

What the event actually is

The main event is a large explorable map built around "unexplained loss-of-consciousness incidents" spreading through the Ark, split into Story I on August 13 and Story II on August 20, with a Challenge Stage for players who want the harder version. Clearing it yields Aigis, gems, materials and relics.

Two side modes come with it. Coordinated Operation is a five-player team fight against a boss called Gatekeeper, running across three weekends. Midnight Phantom Runner is a running mini-game that reframes NIKKE's Phantom as a phantom thief - a fairly direct nod to Persona 5's Mementos side of things.

Outside the collaboration, the same update pushes the main campaign forward with Chapters 47 and 48.

Costumes, which is half the point

The cosmetics list leans into the crossover in both directions. Queen gets a school uniform and a "Queen's Pajamas" set, Yukiko gets a kimono and a winter roomwear outfit, and NIKKE's own roster gets Persona-flavoured looks - Phantom's "Saint Thief" and Flora's "Fairy Rabbit" among them. They are distributed through passes and achievement missions rather than a separate gacha.

The collaboration has not been entirely smooth in the run-up. The reveal of Aigis' design kicked off a genuinely loud argument in the NIKKE community over how faithfully the Persona characters have been adapted to the game's house art style, and it has been running for weeks. Whether that translates into anything at the banner level is the interesting question - NIKKE's collaborations have historically been among its strongest revenue periods regardless of how the discourse goes.

PERSONA ON FRONTLINE begins August 13 (UTC+9) in GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE on iOS, Android and PC, and ends September 10.
