HoYoverse has locked in July 15 for Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.4, titled In Ravages Does the Whistle Sound, and it is a stacked patch - headlined by a brand-new playable form for a fan-favourite Astral Express crew member and the second half of the game's Fate/stay night crossover.
The version's special program laid out the full roadmap, from banners to the story finale on Planarcadia. Here is the trailer.
Himeko - Nova leads the banners
The solo star of the update is Himeko - Nova, a new 5-star Fire character who walks the Path of Erudition. It is a striking reinvention of the Express's navigator, trading her familiar look for red-and-white attire, flowing capes and a spear-like weapon, and giving longtime players a fresh reason to build a character many have carried since launch. She anchors the first-half banner lineup.
The Fate/stay night collaboration returns
Version 4.4 also opens the second half of the crossover with Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works], beginning July 24. Two guest 5-stars join the roster: Rin Tohsaka arrives as a Quantum-Type unit, and Gilgamesh comes in as a Lightning-Type, letting players pull two of the anime's most iconic figures directly into their Trailblaze teams. It is the payoff to a collaboration that began in the previous story arc, and one of the biggest guest-character events HoYoverse has run in the game to date.
A crowded rerun schedule
Returning limited 5-stars fill out the rest of the patch. The first half brings back Sparxie, Dan Heng - Permansor Terrae and Evernight for a limited time, while the second half rotates in Cerydra, Anaxa and Aventurine on the Warp banners. Between the debut of Himeko - Nova, the two Fate guests and six reruns, 4.4 gives just about every kind of player a target to save for.
Story, events and modes
Narratively, In Ravages Does the Whistle Sound continues the crisis engulfing Planarcadia, with the Trailblazer confronting the Lord Ravager Asat Pramad in what the special program framed as an epic, high-stakes battle for the region's survival. The title's imagery of a mournful whistle and a course charted toward the apocalypse sets an appropriately ominous tone for the arc.
Away from the main story, the update adds the new Antigraft Brickbuster event and refreshes the Currency Wars: Zero-Sum Game mode, keeping the between-banner grind lively for players who have already cleared the headline content.
When and where to play
Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.4 goes live on July 15, 2026 across iOS, Android, PC and PlayStation 5, with the Fate/stay night second-half banners following on July 24. As always, expect the usual maintenance-day compensation of Stellar Jade and top-up materials, plus login rewards timed to the anniversary-adjacent celebrations that HoYoverse tends to stack into its summer patches. If you have been sitting on a stockpile of Jade, this is the version to spend it.
