One of the most acclaimed horror adventures of the last decade is back on new hardware. Little Nightmares II Enhanced Edition launches on Nintendo Switch 2 today, May 29, 2026, giving Tarsier Studios' unsettling modern fairy tale a fresh coat of paint built specifically for Nintendo's new console.
Published by Bandai Namco, the Enhanced Edition rebuilds the 2021 original with higher-resolution visuals, improved lighting and effects, and ray tracing. Players can choose between a 4K-targeting Beauty Mode running at 30fps and a Performance Mode that pushes up to 60fps with dynamic resolution, alongside controls retuned for the Switch 2 hardware.
For newcomers, this is the perfect moment to discover why the series became a cult favourite. Little Nightmares II traded the claustrophobic ship of the original for a sprawling, rain-soaked world rotting under the influence of a distant broadcast.
Return to the Signal Tower
You play as Mono, a small boy with a paper bag over his head, trapped in a world distorted by the humming transmission of a far-off tower. He soon meets Six, the girl in the yellow raincoat from the first game, and together the pair pick their way through the Pale City — dodging a grotesque cast of pursuers, from a long-armed Hunter to the nightmare-fuel Teacher, on the way to the dreaded Signal Tower.
What the Enhanced Edition adds
Beyond the bump to 4K and ray-traced lighting, the Switch 2 release sharpens the game's signature interplay of light and shadow — crucial in a series where a stray beam of light can mean the difference between hiding and being spotted. The dual graphics modes let you favour either fidelity or that smoother 60fps response, and faster load times keep the dread flowing between its grim set-pieces.
Part of a busy Switch 2 stretch
The Enhanced Edition arrives during a packed window for Nintendo's new console, landing the same week as the Switch 2 versions of Stray and Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar. For horror fans who never finished Mono and Six's harrowing journey — or who want to revisit one of its most talked-about endings in the best-looking form yet — Little Nightmares II Enhanced Edition is available now on Nintendo Switch 2.
