After months of leaks, it’s official: Rayman Legends Retold was revealed at PlayStation’s State of Play with an October 1, 2026 release on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC at $40. This isn’t a simple remaster — Ubisoft is rebuilding its beloved 2013 platformer in the Snowdrop engine as a full 3D reimagining that keeps the original’s 2D soul, bending the playground and tilting the camera into 2.5D territory while adding an entirely new story, a new villain and a brand-new realm.
A corrupted Glade of Dreams
The new tale sends Rayman, Globox, Barbara, Grand Minimus and Murphy on a rescue mission across magical worlds after a shadowy antagonist corrupts the Glade of Dreams. For the first time in the series, cutscenes are fully voiced, and the soundtrack has been expanded by the original duo of Christophe Héral and Grant Kirkhope. The trailer shows off new 3D dragon-riding sequences alongside the signature musical stages, all playable in four-player couch co-op.
Kung Foot returns, plus a Cave of Trials
Beyond the campaign, Retold upgrades the cult-favorite Kung Foot mode with improved controls and customizable rules, and adds the Cave of Trials — a stream of ongoing free challenges designed to keep players coming back after the credits roll.
Rayman Origins rides along
The Deluxe Edition bundles a Retro Pack of four classic costumes, an in-game art gallery and — the real prize — Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition, a 4K/60fps refresh of the 2011 classic with haptic feedback support, which also launches separately the same day. Pre-ordering any edition adds the Hoodlum Havoc Pack, with two costumes inspired by Rayman 3. The limbless wonder returns October 1.
