The Sims 4's June 30 Update Is a Quality-of-Life Spring Clean - 80+ Fixes, Per-Pack Festival Notifications and Far Fewer Nagging Phone Calls

Not every big update is about new worlds or occults. On June 30, 2026, Maxis pushed a decidedly un-glamorous but widely welcomed patch to The Sims 4 — an update whose headline feature is simply making the game less annoying to live in. Rolling out at 10 AM PT across PC, Mac, PlayStation and Xbox, the patch packs more than 80 bug fixes and a stack of quality-of-life changes aimed squarely at long-standing player complaints.

Your phone will finally stop ringing

The most-requested change tackles the game's relentless phone calls and pop-ups. Neighborhood Stories calls now require your Sim to be at least friends with someone before they reach out, Sims in the Freelancer career will no longer get gig calls from careers they aren't even in, and the frequency of Community Closeness calls has been dialed way down. The team even put the infamous 'Come check out ThrifTea!' reminder out of its misery.

Per-pack festival notifications and cleaner builds

A new Festival Notifications section has been added to Game Options, letting you decide which festivals ping you on a pack-by-pack basis — a small toggle that quietly fixes years of notification clutter for players with big collections. On the building side, windows and doors now display correctly and stay aligned with walls across all graphics settings, ending a persistent visual annoyance.

Stability and storefront tweaks

Under the hood, Maxis says it has reduced save-file corruption for Mac users and squashed visual and crashing issues tied to occults in three separate packs. There's also a consumer-friendly touch for the in-game store: improved price transparency for Maker Packs and Kits in the Marketplace on PC and Xbox, with PlayStation slated to get the same treatment in a future update.

It's a housekeeping patch rather than a flashy one, but after more than a decade, The Sims 4's health increasingly rides on exactly this kind of maintenance. Fewer interruptions, cleaner builds and steadier saves are the sort of fixes that don't make trailers — and the sort players notice every single session.
