Activision has pulled back the curtain on how players will pre-order Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, and the headline package is the Vault Edition — shown off in a new trailer from the official Xbox channel. With the shooter locked in for an October 23, 2026 launch, the editions reveal lays out exactly what the premium tier stuffs into its loadout.
What's in the Vault Edition
Priced at $99.99, the Vault Edition leans hard on cosmetics and battle pass value. Its centerpiece is the Hostile Alliance Operator Pack, bundling Price, Valeria, Ghost and Blix, with Price and Valeria getting both masked and unmasked variant skins. Alongside it sits the Special Forces Operator Pack, four Operators each themed around their country of origin and shipping with a voice pack in their local language.
On top of the Operators, buyers get a full Battle Pass with 100+ rewards — weapons, Operator skins, blueprints and COD Points — plus access to the current BlackCell season once Season 1 begins, five Signature Weapons, and a DMZ Deployment Bonus delivering extra content at launch.

Discounts, upgrades and pre-order bonuses
Activision is dangling a 10% Loyalty Discount on the Vault Edition for anyone who has owned and played a qualifying Call of Duty title — including games claimed through PlayStation Plus Monthly Games. Players who buy the Standard Edition first can later upgrade to the Vault Edition for $30. Every digital pre-order, regardless of tier, includes early access to the Open Beta and the Hunter Killer Operator skin.

One notable absence: Modern Warfare 4 won't arrive on Xbox Game Pass at launch, with Activision signalling it won't join the service until the next Call of Duty ships. For now, the editions breakdown gives fans weighing a pre-order a clear look at what their money buys ahead of October's invasion-themed campaign, multiplayer and DMZ package.
