Chillquarium Brings Its Cozy 156-Fish Idle Aquarium to iOS and Android on August 5

Ben Reber's low-stakes fish-collecting idle game leaves Steam-only waters for a full mobile launch, published by Snapbreak, with real-time fish-raising and rare colour variants to hunt.

Sometimes the most relaxing thing a game can ask of you is almost nothing at all. Chillquarium, the low-stakes idle aquarium game from solo developer Ben Reber, is making the leap from PC to phones - with a full mobile launch on iOS and Android set for August 5, 2026, published on mobile by Snapbreak.

The pitch is refreshingly simple. You buy fish, drop them into your tank, and let them grow in real time. There is no failure state, no timers nagging you, no aggressive monetization loop demanding your attention - just a slowly filling aquarium you check in on whenever the mood strikes. Sell your grown fish, use the money to crack open booster packs, and chase the collection.

156 fish and a lot of rare variants

There are 156 unique species to collect, and each one comes with rare and ultra-rare colour variants, giving completionists a genuine reason to keep cracking packs long after the tank is full. A real-time day-night cycle means your aquarium looks different depending on when you glance at it, and the whole thing is designed to sit quietly in the background of your day - the mobile form factor arguably suits it even better than the desktop original did.

Chillquarium originally launched on PC back in September 2023, where it built a devoted following as the kind of game you leave open on a second monitor. Ahead of the August 5 mobile debut it has been available in Early Access on Android with pre-orders open on iOS, and this week's launch brings the full experience to both stores.

If your phone's home screen is already crowded with games that demand daily logins and stamina bars, Chillquarium is a deliberate palate cleanser - a pocket-sized aquarium that is happy to wait for you.
