Untitled Goose Game Studio's Big Walk Launches Today

After six years in development, House House — the tiny Melbourne studio behind the honking global phenomenon Untitled Goose Game — is back. Big Walk launches today, August 4, on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, with publishing duties handled by Panic (the studio behind Firewatch and the Playdate).

It also arrives straight into PlayStation Plus: Big Walk is one of August's Monthly Games, so PS Plus Essential subscribers can add it to their library at no extra cost from day one.

So what exactly is a ‘walker-talker’?

House House describes Big Walk as a cooperative online “walker-talker.” You and up to eleven friends set out across a wide-open bushland world, getting delightfully lost and working together to find your way around. There is no combat and no timer breathing down your neck — the whole thing is built around exploration, conversation, and the small chaos that happens when a group of friends tries to coordinate anything at all.

Puzzles are designed so that they can only be cracked through teamwork: you are constantly separated from one another across the landscape, and the game hands you a set of tools and toys to communicate over the distance. The result is less a puzzle box and more a shared hangout, where figuring out where everyone actually is becomes half the fun.

Big Walk sends groups of friends out into a wide, open bushland world built for co-op exploration.

That is a striking pivot from Untitled Goose Game, the 2019 slapstick hit that turned a horrible goose loose on an unsuspecting English village and became an instant meme. House House has been open about feeling “terrified” heading into launch after such a long, quiet development — following up a game that broke out the way Goose Game did is no small pressure.

Big Walk leans into a warm, low-stakes, hang-out-with-your-friends energy rather than trying to top the goose's mischief. With cross-platform co-op across PS5, Switch 2, and PC, and a day-one spot on PlayStation Plus, it is positioned to be exactly the kind of relaxed summer game you rope a group chat into. It's out now.
