Devil May Cry 5 is finally making its Nintendo debut. During the June 9 Nintendo Direct, Capcom announced Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition for Nintendo Switch 2, and it is arriving fast - the digital version launches on June 23, 2026, with a physical edition following on August 28.
This is the first time the acclaimed 2019 stylish-action game has ever appeared on a Nintendo platform, and Capcom is not treating it as a stripped-back afterthought. The Devil Hunter Edition runs at a smooth 60 frames per second in both docked TV mode and handheld, which matters enormously for a series built on split-second dodges, jump-cancels and ranking up your combos from D to the coveted SSS.

Everything is in the box
The "Devil Hunter Edition" branding refers to just how much is bundled in. The headline inclusion is the Vergil playable character DLC, letting you blitz through the campaign as Dante's brooding twin with his teleport-heavy move set built around the Yamato, Beowulf and Mirage Edge.
On top of Vergil, the package gathers the extras Capcom rolled out across the game's life: alternate costume colours, additional Devil Breaker arms for Nero, extra taunts and a selection of swappable battle tracks. For newcomers picking the series up on Switch 2, it is the most complete way to play DMC5 on the go.

Three hunters, one demonic crisis
For anyone who skipped it the first time, Devil May Cry 5 reunites Nero, Dante and the mysterious newcomer V to stop the demon king Urizen after a colossal Qliphoth tree erupts through Red Grave City. Each hunter controls in a wildly different way - Nero leans on his interchangeable Devil Breaker arms, Dante juggles four weapon styles on the fly, and V commands summoned familiars while reading poetry - giving the campaign plenty of variety on repeat runs.
An early-adopter discount
Capcom is rewarding quick buyers, too. Players who pre-order or pick up the digital Devil Hunter Edition by July 7, 2026 qualify for an early-adopter discount around the $29.99 launch price. With the physical edition close behind on August 28, Switch 2 owners hunting for a high-skill action fix have a stylish one penciled in for later this month.
