SNK's crossover streak in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves now reaches Bandai Namco's biggest fighting series. On October 9 SNK confirmed that Reina, the Mishima-trained newcomer who debuted in TEKKEN 8, will join City of the Wolves as a downloadable fighter in December. She is the last name on the game's third season of DLC, and with her the season pass is complete: the roster has been revealed through to the end of 2026.
Who Reina is, and how she arrives
Reina was one of TEKKEN 8's headline new characters: a student at the Mishima Polytechnical School with a cheerful face, a shadowy family history, and a fighting style built from Mishima-family karate and the kind of lightning-fast strings Tekken players associate with that bloodline. SNK's announcement keeps her backstory deliberately vague. Her past is still a mystery, and her reason for being in South Town is suitably simple: she wanders into the city, hears about the King of Fighters tournament, and decides to enter.
Voice continuity carries over from Bandai Namco's game. Asami Seto, Reina's Japanese voice in TEKKEN 8, reprises the role. Kate Clarke provides a brand-new English performance, since City of the Wolves ships with English voice tracks for its whole cast while Tekken's characters mostly speak their native languages.
SNK revealed her with a short teaser trailer on its official channels, released in English and Japanese cuts and branded "FATAL FURY: CotW × TEKKEN8". The teaser shows her redrawn in City of the Wolves' cel-shaded comic-book style, which suits her far better than you might expect from a character built for Tekken's more realistic look. SNK has not given a specific December date yet, and has not shown her full move list. That will most likely come in a dedicated gameplay trailer closer to launch, which is how SNK has handled every DLC fighter so far.
Turning a 3D fighter into a 2D one
The interesting challenge is mechanical. Tekken is a 3D fighter built around four limb buttons, sidesteps and long, juggle-heavy combos. City of the Wolves is a 2D game built around its REV System: a meter that powers enhanced moves and REV Blows, but punishes overuse with an overheat state. SNK says Reina's toolkit adapts her Tekken style to that system rather than copying it button for button, so expect her signature stances and electric-wind style strikes to be reworked as special and REV moves.
SNK has done this kind of translation before. Over the past year City of the Wolves has hosted football star Cristiano Ronaldo, DJ and producer Salvatore Ganacci, Street Fighter's Ken and Chun-Li, and Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star. Kenshiro closed out Season 2 in June. Each guest got a full Arcade ending and a chapter in Episodes of South Town, the game's single-player RPG mode, and Reina should get the same treatment.

Season 3, start to finish
Reina closes out a Season 3 that leans hard on both nostalgia and outside licences. It opened in late July with Rick Strowd, the boxer from Real Bout Fatal Fury 2. Duck King, a series regular since the first Fatal Fury in 1991, followed in late August, and taekwondo master Kim Kaphwan arrived in late September. That gave Kim his first appearance in the same game as his sons Dong Hwan and Jae Hoon.
Next up is a second collaboration. Manjiro "Mikey" Sano and Ken "Draken" Ryuguji from the manga and anime Tokyo Revengers arrive on October 22. SNK showed both in trailers on October 8. November brings Laocorn, a villain drawn from Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture, and Reina finishes the run in December.
The Season 3 pass is on sale now for $19.99. Anyone who has not bought in yet can pick up the Revenge Edition for $49.99, which bundles the base game with all three season passes.
Switch 2 arrives the same day as Tokyo Revengers
October 22 is a big day for City of the Wolves for another reason: the game finally reaches Nintendo Switch 2. It launches there digitally that day, with a physical edition following in January 2027. That puts the full game on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, and Switch 2. So by the time Reina arrives in December, the largest audience the game has had will be able to buy her.

Why this one matters
Crossovers between the big fighting game publishers have become a regular feature of the genre, but a Tekken character in a Fatal Fury game is still a notable crossing. SNK and Bandai Namco's series have shared tournament stages for decades without sharing a roster this directly. For City of the Wolves, which has relied on guest fighters to keep its competitive scene and casual audience talking between seasons, Reina is the most recognisable fighting-game guest since Ken and Chun-Li. She is also the first to come from a 3D series.
The timing is not subtle either. SNK announced her during EVO France weekend, where City of the Wolves was on the main bracket lineup. Expect a full gameplay trailer and a firm December date in the weeks ahead. Until then, the next stop is October 22, when Tokyo Revengers and the Switch 2 version land together.
