Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is officially out on new hardware. As of June 3, 2026, the second chapter of Square Enix's acclaimed remake trilogy is available on Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC (with Xbox Play Anywhere and Cloud Gaming support), and Square Enix marked the occasion with a glossy launch trailer.
The whole trilogy, now on every modern platform
Originally a 2024 PS5 exclusive before reaching PC, Rebirth picks up after the escape from Midgar and sends Cloud and company on a sprawling journey across the wider world - a game that racked up more than 125 perfect review scores and over 40 Game of the Year awards. With this launch, alongside Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, the first two entries in the remake project are finally playable across PS5, Xbox, Switch 2 and PC. New players on Xbox and Switch 2 can also ease in with a Streamlined Progression option that hands out unlimited MP, ATB and limit gauges to keep the focus on the story.
Editions, the Switch 2 cartridge question and a launch discount
The Switch 2 physical release ships as a Game Key Card - the cartridge prompts a roughly 105GB download when inserted - and the package throws in a reversible cover and a Magic: The Gathering x Final Fantasy Zack Fair promo card. Digitally, a Standard Edition and a Digital Deluxe Edition (with bonus materia, accessories, armor, a digital artbook and mini-soundtrack) are available, and Xbox buyers get a 20% discount through June 10. After a long wait, one of the generation's most beloved RPGs is finally in a lot more hands.
