Sony's June 2 State of Play was a big one - just over 75 minutes and more than 20 games, opening with an extended look at Marvel's Wolverine and closing on the surprise reveal of God of War Laufey. Here's everything that was announced, game by game.
Marvel's Wolverine
The show opened with a meaty gameplay walkthrough from Insomniac. Logan is tracking mutants captured by the Reavers, a cybernetic guns-for-hire militia working for industrialist Bolivar Trask, in brutally gory combat full of special Techniques like the Tornado Spin - with Jean Grey, Mystique and Sabretooth all turning up. A building Rage meter feeds stronger attacks, his Healing Factor and a comic-inspired Rage Tier 3. It launches September 15, 2026 on PS5 for $69.99.
God of War Laufey
The closer was a stunner: a roughly 20-minute gameplay reveal for a new God of War in which you play not as Kratos but as Faye, his late wife and Atreus' mother. After her funeral she awakens in the Everywhen - the realm where all magic begins and ends, and where gods from across mythologies converge - and fights to protect the family she left behind. Combat flows seamlessly between ground and air with a magical sword and soul-siphoning powers. Deborah Ann Woll voices Faye, with Jack Quaid and Perlina Lau in the cast and Cory Barlog as head of creative. PS5 exclusive, no date yet.
Control Resonant
Remedy's sequel dated itself for September 24, 2026. With Jesse Faden missing, the Federal Bureau of Control turns to her brother Dylan - the sole playable character - to face a Manhattan warped by paranatural forces, with the eccentric Dr. Casper Darling returning. Coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Mac.
Silent Hill: Townfall
Konami and Scottish studio Screen Burn (with Annapurna) locked in September 24, 2026 for the next Silent Hill. The release-date trailer introduced a new character, Zoe, and an unsettling CRTV device mechanic. Launching on PS5 and PC.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword
Capcom's samurai-action revival arrives September 25, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC - and a 30-minute demo went live during the show, featuring a boss fight on Mount Oe against a giant Genma claiming to be the legendary Shuten Doji.
Dune: Awakening
Funcom's survival MMO comes to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on September 22, 2026, and the same-day update adds a full single-player mode and the final Act of the Book One story across all platforms. The Paul Atreides-narrated trailer leaned into the game's alternate Dune timeline.
Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve
The first mainline Ace Combat in seven years takes off October 2, 2026 (Deluxe early access September 28) on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The trailer showed campaign action, new bosses and the Joker Flight squadron, and every pre-order includes Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War.
Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered
Koei Tecmo and Omega Force dated their Unreal Engine 5 revival of the series-defining classic for October 1, 2026 on PS5, Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and PC, with a new Weapon Fusion system, a Free Mode and the return of split-screen co-op.
Rayman Legends Retold
Ubisoft surprised everyone with a ground-up 3D reimagining of Rayman Legends, complete with a brand-new realm, fully voiced cinematics, dragon riding and up to four-player couch co-op. It hits October 1, 2026 for $39.99.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis
Crystal Dynamics' Unreal Engine 5 remake of the 1996 original dated for February 12, 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and PC, retracing Lara's globe-trotting hunt for the pieces of the Scion.
Until Dawn 2
The branching-path horror series returns in 2027 with a new cast and the remote, story-haunted Akishima Island, following the crew of paranormal TV show Dead True - with Peter Stormare's Dr. Hill returning and the franchise's signature butterfly-effect choices intact.
And everything else from the show
There was plenty more: Phantom Blade Zero locked in October 29 (with its own dedicated showcase coming this summer); Moon Studios' action-RPG No Rest for the Wicked arrives in October; Bancho the Chef is a standalone Dave the Diver prequel from its original creators; ILL is a stomach-churning first-person horror; Stuntman: Hollywood revives the episodic stunt-driving series; Kemuri (from UNSEEN) and dinosaur survival-horror The Lost Wild are both targeting 2027; and Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls added Magneto, Green Goblin and Carnage ahead of its August 6 launch. On the live-service side, Bungie's Marathon kicked off Season 2 with a free Open Play Week (June 2-9), while PlayStation Plus added Runescape: Dragonwilds day one plus Classics Gitaroo Man, Psi-Ops and Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams. All told, it was one of the most stacked State of Plays in years - and PlayStation's fall looks relentless.
