Genshin Impact has kicked off Version 6.7 'Luna VIII', a summer-flavored update that went live on July 1, 2026, headlined by the return of a Fatui Harbinger many players assumed was gone for good. Sandrone, the Seventh of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers, comes back as a brand-new 5-star Cryo Claymore character - an unexpected reappearance after she sacrificed herself in the fierce battle at Nod-Krai.
Sandrone leads a stacked banner run
Phase 1 of Version 6.7 runs from July 1 to July 21 and pairs Sandrone's debut with a rerun of Columbina. Phase 2 then runs from July 21 to August 11 and brings back the Raiden Shogun, giving lapsed players a well-timed reason to reopen the game across the back half of summer. HoYoverse laid all of it out during the 6.7 Special Program, which aired on June 18.
A sunny summer in Teyvat
True to the season, Luna VIII wraps the new character reveals in a summer festival package built around lighthearted events and limited-time rewards, continuing the cadence HoYoverse has settled into with its 'Luna' version naming. As always, Genshin Impact is free-to-play across iOS, Android, PC and PlayStation 5 with full cross-save and cross-play, so anyone tempted back by Sandrone can pick up wherever they left off.
With a returning Harbinger, a marquee Archon rerun and a summer's worth of events, Version 6.7 is one of the more eventful mid-year updates Genshin has shipped - and a reminder that even five-plus years in, the game still knows how to stage a comeback.
