One of the most influential online RPGs of the 2000s is about to fit in your pocket. Guild Wars Reforged — ArenaNet and NCSoft's modernized re-release of the 2005 classic Guild Wars — gets its global launch on iOS and Android on June 24, 2026, after an early soft launch in a handful of regions back in May.
The headline feature is that this is not a separate, cut-down spin-off. Reforged offers full cross-play and cross-progression across PC, Steam Deck and mobile, so the same character and account move with you between a desktop session and a phone on the train. ArenaNet rebuilt the interface from the ground up for touchscreens, with a customizable UI and a control scheme designed for mobile rather than bolted on.

The business model is friendly to newcomers. The mobile client is free to download as an ad-supported app that includes the original Prophecies campaign, letting curious players experience the foundational story at no cost. Each campaign's paid version is sold as a standalone unlock for $6.99 / £6.49, which removes ads, enables chat and trading, and — crucially — lets you log into your ArenaNet account to sync characters and progress across every device.

For context, Guild Wars Reforged already launched on PC, where it is Steam Deck Verified and carries a “Very Positive” user rating, with around 87% of its reviews recommending it. The original Guild Wars was famous for skill-based, instanced PvE and a celebrated competitive PvP scene, and Reforged packages the complete saga from the fall of Ascalon through the desperate stand against Nightfall.
The full mobile rollout arrives June 24 on the App Store and Google Play, with cross-progression live across PC, Steam Deck, iOS and Android from day one.
