Arc System Works revealed Robo-Ky's full trailer at EVO 2026. The Season 5 Pass fighter arrives July 2 alongside Blazing Pass Duel 2: Ennui Protocol, which adds a Queen Dizzy outfit, a Thunderseal weapon skin, Haunted colours and an in-game music playlist.

Robo-Ky Crashes EVO 2026 - Guilty Gear Strive's Mechanical Menace Returns July 2 in the Blazing Pass Duel 2: Ennui Protocol

Arc System Works lit up EVO 2026 with the full reveal of Robo-Ky, the mechanical doppelganger of Ky Kiske who has been conspicuously absent from Guilty Gear Strive since the game launched back in 2021. The fan-favourite robot finally gets his moment, and he is arriving sooner than anyone expected.

Blazing Pass Duel 2: Ennui Protocol

Robo-Ky headlines Strive’s next major update, landing July 2 as part of the new Blazing Pass Duel 2: Ennui Protocol. He joins the roster as a Season 5 Pass character, capping off a teaser that Arc System Works first dropped during its June 24 showcase before unveiling the full gameplay trailer on the EVO stage.

Guilty Gear Strive gameplay
Robo-Ky returns to Guilty Gear Strive’s vivid, anime-styled brawls as a Season 5 Pass fighter.

Beyond the new fighter, the July 2 pass is stuffed with cosmetics and quality-of-life extras: a Queen Dizzy outfit, the Thunderseal (Holy Order) weapon skin for Ky, a set of Haunted Version character colours, and — long overdue — a proper in-game music playlist feature so players can curate the soundtrack to their sets.

A long-awaited return

Robo-Ky has always been one of the series’ most distinctive oddballs, a self-modifying machine whose kit historically revolves around heat and charge management rather than straightforward pokes and combos. His absence from Strive’s base roster left a clear gap for veterans, and his return is exactly the kind of legacy pick that keeps a five-year-old fighting game feeling fresh.

Guilty Gear Strive fighting action
Strive remains one of the genre’s best-looking games, and Robo-Ky slots right into its roster of eccentrics.

What is next for Season 5

Robo-Ky is not the end of the road. Arc System Works has confirmed that two further Season 5 characters are slated for winter 2026 and spring 2027, keeping Strive’s competitive scene fed well into next year. With EVO 2026 still raging in Las Vegas and the July 2 update just days away, there has rarely been a better time to be a Guilty Gear player.
