Goddess of Victory: NIKKE is shifting into turbo. Developer Shift Up's hit sci-fi RPG shooter is rolling out its tokusatsu-inspired "Ark Ranger" update on June 11, 2026 across PC, iOS and Android, complete with a brand-new SSR character, a fully voiced story event and a fresh costume.
The update is a love letter to classic Japanese special-effects superhero shows, and it puts a trio of in-universe TV heroes - Ark Red, Ark Blue and Ark Black - front and centre as the stars of the Ark's most popular tokusatsu production.
Meet Ark Black
The centrepiece of the update is Ark Black, a new playable SSR Nikke tied directly to the event's storyline. Her Pick Up recruitment runs from June 11 (after maintenance) through July 2, so players chasing her will want to bank their gems ahead of the banner.
While the cameras capture flashy battles and transformation sequences, the narrative quickly turns personal: behind the spandex and pyrotechnics, Ark Black confronts trauma, loss and the uncomfortable question of whether the heroes she plays on screen are truly heroic. Notably, the event is fully voiced - something NIKKE's story events do not usually offer.
A new look for Moran
The Ark Ranger update also adds a new costume for Moran, who leads the underworld Peony association, rounding out a content drop that blends NIKKE's trademark character writing with a colourful, action-packed homage to Saturday-morning hero shows.
The Ark Ranger update goes live on June 11 following maintenance on PC and mobile. Log in during the event window to follow Ark Black's story and add her to your squad.
