Nintendo Reveals a Pokemon Pokopia + Switch 2 Bundle Launching July 23 - Build a Cozy Paradise as a Ditto

Nintendo has a new hardware bundle for the cozy-game crowd. The Nintendo Switch 2 + Pokemon Pokopia Bundle launches on July 23, 2026, pairing a Switch 2 console with one of the platform's most charming exclusives - a relaxing life-sim where you play as, of all things, a Ditto.

A World to Rebuild

Pokemon and people once lived happily together - but the world has withered and the humans are gone. The only resident left appears to be a lone Tangrowth. After waking from a long slumber, a peculiar Ditto decides to restore the desolate land using its transformation skills and a surprising new knack for crafting. It's a gentle, restorative premise that puts Pokopia closer to Animal Crossing than to a traditional Pokemon RPG.

Craft, Build, and Befriend

As Ditto, you'll learn the moves of your Pokemon friends to reshape the land - use Bulbasaur's Leafage to make wild grass grow, or cross water with Lapras's Surf. Days are spent crafting, building, and gardening; evenings are for relaxing in the paradise you've made, or inviting Pokemon and up to three other players to visit. It's a systems-rich but low-stress loop designed to be lived in.

An Expansion Pass Is Already Mapped Out

For players who want more, a paid Expansion Pass adds three waves of content - new towns, new Pokemon to befriend, and new features. Part 1: Bubbly Basin is scheduled for August 2026, Part 2 for late 2026, and Part 3 in 2027. Bundled with the console for new Switch 2 adopters, it's a smart, family-friendly pack-in - and a cozy counterweight to the summer's louder blockbusters.
