Pokemon UNITE adds Morpeko, Toxtricity, Jolteon and Flareon - completing the Eeveelutions

Four new Pokemon were revealed at the 2026 World Championships: Morpeko on 4 September as a Speedster with Full Belly and Hangry modes, Toxtricity on 24 September as a status-focused Attacker, then Jolteon and Flareon in October to complete every Eeveelution. It lands the same weekend UNITE was dropped from Worlds 2027.

Pokémon UNITE is getting four new playable Pokémon over the next two months, and one of them completes a roster milestone five years in the making. Morpeko, Toxtricity, Jolteon and Flareon were all revealed during the UNITE finals at the 2026 Pokémon World Championships, live from Chase Center in San Francisco.

With Jolteon and Flareon in, the full set of Eeveelutions will be playable in UNITE — a completion the game has been inching toward since launch.

The schedule

The four arrive on a staggered rollout rather than as a single drop:

Only Morpeko and Toxtricity have firm dates. Jolteon and Flareon are both pencilled in for October without a day attached, which usually means they are landing in the same content window and the team wants room to space them out.

Morpeko's two modes are the interesting part

Morpeko comes in as a high-mobility Speedster built around switching between Full Belly Mode and Hangry Mode to change its attack properties mid-fight. That is a straight translation of the mainline gimmick, and it is a smart fit for UNITE specifically — Speedsters live and die on picking the right moment to commit to a jungle skirmish, and a Pokémon that can shift its damage profile without leaving the fight is a genuinely different tool from the existing roster.

Toxtricity goes the other way: an Attacker specialising in area-of-effect Electric and Poison status conditions. Sustained zone denial rather than burst. In a game where teamfights collapse around Zapdos and the Rayquaza pit, an Attacker whose whole job is making a patch of ground unpleasant to stand in has an obvious role.

Jolteon as a Speedster is the expected read. Flareon as an All-Rounder is slightly less so — it puts the Fire Eeveelution in the frontline bruiser bracket alongside the likes of Charizard rather than making it a pure damage dealer, which is arguably the more useful slot for a roster that is thin on melee-range flexibility.

The context nobody wanted

This roster news arrived at what turned out to be a bittersweet moment. Japanese side Zeta Division beat European team KOMAÏ 3-1 to take the UNITE world title — and shortly afterward, The Pokémon Company confirmed that UNITE will not be part of the 2027 World Championships line-up. The game is instead being moved to a standalone event in Japan.

That makes 2026 the last year UNITE appears at the combined Worlds. Four new Pokémon in eight weeks is not the behaviour of a game being wound down, and the standalone event may well end up a better showcase than a shared stage. But the optics of announcing the roster expansion and the Worlds departure on the same weekend were not ideal.

Where to play

Pokémon UNITE is free-to-play on iOS and Android, with cross-progression to the Nintendo Switch version through a linked Nintendo Account. All four new Pokémon will be obtainable through the usual Unite Licence route — Aeos coins or gems — once they go live.
