One of the most-watched sandbox games on YouTube is finally coming to phones. Wobbly Life lands on iOS and Android on August 20, priced at $8.99 (EUR 8.99 / GBP 7.99) with no ads, no energy meter and no in-app currency - a straight premium port of the physics sandbox that RubberBandGames has been building since 2020.
Grandma kicked you out. Get a job.
The premise has not changed and does not need to. You are a wobbly, jelly-limbed person on Wobbly Island, your grandmother has evicted you, and the only instruction is to find work. What follows is more than 20 distinct jobs - pizza delivery, construction, garbage collection, farm work and stranger variants - each paying out cash you spend on the island's genuinely deep pile of stuff: over 500 clothing and home customisation items, and more than 90 drivable vehicles.

What has kept Wobbly Life alive for six years is the physics. The ragdoll model is the joke and the mechanic at once - jobs fall apart in slapstick ways, vehicles handle like they are made of rubber, and failure is usually funnier than success. That is also why the game found an enormous family and creator audience on PC and console without ever having a marketing budget to speak of.
Cross-platform play, mobile to mobile
The port keeps multiplayer, which is the part that could easily have been cut. Cross-platform play works across mobile devices, so iPhone and Android players can share an island, race, run mini-games and grind jobs together. Leaderboards track the usual titles - Richest Wobbler, Job Master and the rest - and the story missions and hidden locations from the PC build are along for the ride.

Publisher Curve Games is handling the release, which is a sensible fit: this is the company that took Human Fall Flat - the other great wobbly-physics co-op game - and turned it into a multi-platform staple with a very large mobile installed base. RubberBandGames remains the developer.
Pricing and pre-registration
Pre-registration is open now on the Google Play Store, with the App Store listing following. A reduced pre-order price runs through August 23, after which the $8.99 standard price applies. The game will also be available through Google Play Games on PC.
The obvious question with any physics sandbox on a touchscreen is controls, and RubberBandGames has not yet published a detailed breakdown of the mobile scheme. That is the one thing worth waiting for a hands-on verdict on: Wobbly Life asks you to drive, climb, carry awkward objects and operate machinery, often at speed, and virtual sticks have a poor record with all four. Controller support would solve it outright, and given the game's console history it would be surprising if it were absent.
Even with that caveat, this is a good addition to a lineup of phone releases that has been unusually strong on premium ports lately. A complete, one-price, 500-item sandbox with working cross-play is not what the mobile store fronts usually push, and at $8.99 it costs less than a month of most things that do.
