New Eridu's second birthday is shaping up to be a big one. HoYoverse used its July 17 Special Program to lay out Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.1, 'The Long Goodbye', and the second-anniversary update is stuffed - new story, two new S-Rank Agents, a permanent game mode, generous free rewards, and a brand-new platform. It all goes live on July 29, 2026 across iOS, Android, PC, and PS5.
The Story: A Reunion on Roscaelifer
Version 3.1's main story takes the Proxies to the sky island of Roscaelifer, where representatives of New Eridu's major factions gather - and where Phaethon's crew unexpectedly reunites with an old friend, Truvia, heiress of High Ambitions Corp. A past incident once drove them apart, and the update leans into that unresolved history. Players also meet the Airspace Patrol Department's Administrative Director Lindverne Sunbringer and Deputy Director Sigrid.

Two New S-Rank Agents
The banner headliners are a big deal. Remielle Dan is an S-Rank Anomaly Agent and the game's first-ever Lumiflux attribute Agent - a genuinely new damage type for the roster. She's joined by Sigrid, an S-Rank Ice Attack Agent stepping straight out of the story and onto the battlefield. New attributes and archetypes are exactly the kind of shake-up long-time Agents look for in an anniversary patch.

A New Permanent Mode and Anniversary Gifts
Version 3.1 also adds a permanent game mode, Enigma of the Labyrinth: Operation Bagel, giving players a lasting new activity rather than a limited-time event. And the anniversary generosity is real: log in during 3.1 and you'll receive a free limited S-Rank Agent of your choice and a corresponding exclusive W-Engine, plus 1,600 Polychromes and 20 Signal Searches - a substantial pull toward that next banner.

ZZZ Comes to Xbox
Finally, a platform milestone: Zenless Zone Zero launches on Xbox PC the same day 3.1 goes live, widening the game's reach two years in. Between a new attribute, a free S-Rank, a permanent mode, and a new storefront, 'The Long Goodbye' is one of ZZZ's most stacked updates yet. Mark July 29 - and start saving those Polychromes.
