Activision has laid out the full contents of Call of Duty: Mobile Season 8, and it is one of the strangest crossovers the game has attempted. Titled Against All Fate and going live on September 9, 2026, the season is built around a collaboration with HoYoverse's Honkai Impact 3rd — complete with Herrscher Operators, Honkai-inspired enemies dropped into Battle Royale, and a first-of-its-kind Mythic weapon armory holding three guns at once.
A roguelike top-down shooter, inside Call of Duty
The headline addition outside the collab is a genuinely new mode. Season 8 introduces a top-down roguelike where up to three players team up against waves of monsters before a final boss. There are three maps at different difficulty tiers, and runs are built around earning XP and hunting Elite Chests that contain upgrades — Weapon Traits, Stigmata and Chips.
Drops and upgrade paths are randomised per run, knocked-out teammates can be revived, and an Endless mode stacks increasingly difficult enemy waves for players who clear the standard version. It is a substantial departure from anything else in the game's mode list, and the Stigmata terminology is a direct borrow from Honkai's own equipment system.
The Quantum Platform takes over part of Isolated
Battle Royale gets a limited-time point of interest on Isolated. Players first complete a contract, then defend a teleporter while it charges. Once it activates, squads can step through the portal onto the Quantum Platform, where they fight Honkai-inspired enemies and search for high-quality loot before returning through the teleporter and rejoining the match on the main map.
It is a risk-reward detour rather than a separate mode — the Battle Royale match keeps running while you are away, which is the interesting part.
Three Mythics in one armory
Season 8 debuts the first Mythic Weapons Series Armory, bundling three Mythic weapons into a single offering: the ISO Hemlock — Core of Thunder, Static-HV — Core of Fire and BAL-27 — Core of Reason. Each carries its own designs, elimination effects, inspection and reload animations, and Mythic upgrade paths, with collection rewards including Charms, Stickers, Frames, Throwables, Mythic Calling Cards and Emotes.
Crucially, one of those three can also be earned for free. A Mythic Free Weapon Event runs weekly missions across multiple seasons and lets players pick a single weapon from the trio, with the choice changeable right up until the event completes. Activision is upfront that it demands significant progression and some genuinely hard missions — but a free Mythic is not something the game has offered casually before.
Herrscher Operators and the Battle Pass
Three Honkai-themed Lucky Draws are built around Fire, Ice and Thunder, featuring Rin Yoshida — Herrscher of Thunder with the Katana — Domain of Sanction, Siren — Herrscher of Flamescion with the Nail Gun — Domain of Incandescence, and Kestrel — Herrscher of Reason with the FHJ — Domain of Revelation. Collect all three Operators and you unlock EMP Systems — Snap Judgement, Gunship — Thunderous Destruction, and the Gravity Vortex Gun — Project Bunny Operator Skill Skin.
The free Battle Pass track hands out the ISO Hemlock assault rifle, a high-damage, low-recoil mid-range option, alongside Operator Skins, blueprints and Vault Coins. The Premium Pass adds Keegan — Field Medic, Manta Ray — Mech Framewright, Cipher — Mech Pilot and Corso — Plated Rogue, with blueprints including Striker — Chibi Chassis, SP-R 208 — Reclamation and Static-HV — Overhaul. Ground Forces subscribers additionally receive Price — Keyboard Warrior and the FR .556 and Backpack 4 Second Nature set.
The Challenge Pass carries the new Static-HV SMG — a 50-round, high-fire-rate aggressive option — plus the VMP — Stellar Radiance and a Chibi Commando Charm. A dedicated Honkai themed event layers on lore, a collection space and a social area, with rewards including the Scylla — Rita Rossweisse Operator Skin, the Scythe — Aphrodite melee blueprint, the Rosette Runners camo and a reskinned Predator Missile scorestreak.
Everything else
An Arcade event brings the Chuy — Bracken Operator Skin plus Locus — Hunter, QQ9 — Close Call and Cronen Squall — Firebreak blueprints. A Legendary Secret Cache adds the Grau 5.56 — Rita's Rose, the Legendary Vehicle Draw adds the Snowboard — Horizon Shredder and Wingsuit — Air Drifter, and the Dingo — Diamond Oracle LMG reskin arrives as the new Prestige Weapon.
Call of Duty: Mobile Season 8 — Against All Fate goes live September 9, 2026, free to play on iOS and Android.
