The wait has a date. Halo Studios has confirmed that Halo: Campaign Evolved launches on July 28, 2026, with pre-orders open now across every platform. It is a ground-up reimagining of the 2001 campaign that started it all — Master Chief crash-landing on a mysterious ringworld — rebuilt in the studio's modern engine and, for the first time in series history, shipping day-and-date on PlayStation 5 alongside Xbox Series X|S and PC.
If you own an Xbox console or play on PC, the campaign also arrives day one with Game Pass, so Ultimate subscribers can drop in at no extra cost. The standalone Standard Edition runs $49.99, a reasonable ask for a remade flagship campaign rather than a full-price tentpole release.
Editions, early access and the Foundry Armory Pack
Players who pre-order the Premium Edition or the $199.99 Collector's Edition get up to five days of early access, with servers opening on July 23 at 8:00 AM PDT — five full days before the standard launch. Pre-ordering before July 27 also unlocks the Foundry Armory Pack, which dresses the Chief in a legendary spin on his iconic Mark V Mjolnir armor.

The original campaign, rebuilt — plus new missions
This is not a straight remaster. Halo: Campaign Evolved rebuilds Combat Evolved's mission set with new lighting, redesigned environments and updated sandbox encounters, while layering in brand-new missions that expand the original story beats. The goal is to make the 25-year-old adventure feel like a modern Halo without sanding off the eerie, lonely atmosphere that made the first trip to the ring so memorable.

For PS5 owners, this is a genuine landmark — the first time the Master Chief's debut has been playable on a PlayStation console. For everyone else, July 28 (or July 23 if you spring for the Premium Edition) is a chance to revisit the mission that defined a console generation. Pre-orders are live now ahead of the global launch.
